Chapter Four: Tel Fyr

The khajiit walked through the lowest canton of the Foreign Quarter for a few hours. The blood encrusted inside my armor began to release a stench of death. A gondolier saw the khajiit coming and bowed deeply. “Master of House Telvanni, how may I serve?” he asked obediently.

“Take my friend and I to Tel Fyr, Divayth requires our assistance,” J’skooma responded as he pulled a purple-velvet bag which held two-hundred drakes. The Gondolier grabbed the bag and allowed us to step in.

“Muthsera, why does Lord Fyr request your presence?” The young ashborn questioned. “I know of your exploits, Muthsera. However, why does the ancient wizard-lord require you?”

“J’skooma is unsure, J’skooma only knows that Divayth Fyr needs assistance,” The Khajiit said. “Now please, focus on getting us to Tel Fyr.” J’skooma was a Telvanni master? That would mean he was on the Council. Why did he care about me?

We finally arrived at the biological tower of Divayth Fyr after a few hours. The Gondolier merely nodded as we stepped out. The feel of natural ground felt almost strange.

After he opened the door, four Dunmeri women stood there. They all wore the same outfit, but they wore different colors. Black, blue, red, and green were the colors they wore. Two had black hair; the other two had dark brown hair. Each looked to be during their second decade. “J’skooma,” The one in the black outfit seductively said. “It’s such an honor to see you.”

“J’skooma is happy to see you, Alfe. J’skooma is also happy to see all of you.”

Like little children they all flocked to him, like a child does his mother. They were Divayth’s friends I think. However, they seemed to be quite happy with J’skooma. Out from behind the welcoming crew walked a Dunmer with a white goatee and a matching mop of hair.

“J’skooma,” the Dark Elf smiled. “It is a pleasure to see you; however we need to discuss ‘business.’”

“May I come?” I asked.

“My daughters will keep you entertained,” Divayth said as they walked up a ramp.

“I am Alfe,” the one in the black smiled.

“I am Beyte,” the one in the blue giggled.

“I am Delte,” the one in the green chuckled.

“I am Uupse,” the one in the red grinned.

I nodded. “Your father said you had something to keep me busy?” I asked inquisitively. “Could you please tell me what you need with my services?”

Alfe stated, “I saw you come in with Master J’skooma. Just come with us.”

I gulped as we walked towards a large, round, golden door. It spun open to reveal a bed, a dresser, and a chamber pot. “Enter.”

Obediently I walked in. “Lay down on the bed, please,” Alfe ordered. Again I did as told. What did these women want with me?

Alfe muttered under her breath. My hands were bound by conjured shackles, as well as my ankles. “Listen, Argonian. For the time you’re here, you will remain inside this room. If you leave, we’ll use deadly force to stop you,” Beyte growled. “I am a trained Spell-sword, as are my sisters. While ‘Father’ deals with J’skooma, we deal with you.” Uupse was pale as her sister spoke.

They walked out and the door spun to a close. I heard a click of a lock, most likely magical. I should probably stay here for the time being. For several hours, I sat on the bed. Uupse came in with a platter of cooked nix-hound meat, spiced salt-rice, and a glass of Flin.

“I’m sorry, honestly,” she whimpered. Tears rolled down her face. The sweet girl was actually empathetic towards an Argonian. Her dark hair was a mess. She hugged me tightly and kissed me on the cheek.

As she pulled away from the hug, I discovered a Scroll of Ondusi’s Open Door in my pocket. Uupse left and the door clicked again. I kept the scroll in my pocket, I had a feeling it’d be a good thing to wait for a few more hours.

If J’skooma wasn’t back by then, then it was time I free myself…

Chapter Five: Escaping Tel Fyr

A few more hours passed, I had no choice but to escape. I cast the spell inscribed on the scroll and opened the door. I heard Alfe and Beyte talking. “I wonder what Master J’skooma could want,” Alfe stated. “It’s very rare for him to come here.”

“I don’t know, but I don’t exactly trust his companion,” Beyte responded. The stench of the lower levels of Tel Fyr burned my nostrils. I walked out of my room and took a right up the ramp.

“My, my,” Alfe grinned wickedly. “Our prisoner escaped.” She hissed a spell which seared my flesh. I charged over and kicked her in the chest. The Dunmer woman fell to the ground and coughed up a dark-crimson, almost black fluid. Blood. The woman struggled to get up, but fell to the ground. Her body became lifeless; she was dead.

Beyte kneeled by her sister and whimpered, “Y-you killed her.” I could sense her hatred of me as she rushed towards the upper level. Coming down the ramp were Divayth Fyr and J’skooma.

“Alfe is dead,” the Dunmeri Woman sobbed. “The Argonian killed her.”

The ancient Dark Elf raised a brow. “Is this true, Quick-Strike?”

“Lord Fyr, I escaped where they were holding me and Alfe assaulted me with magic,” I muttered. Fyr would kill me, most likely.

“Alfe lies dead. You have killed one of my daughters. If J’skooma weren’t such a good friend of mine, I’d have your head on a platter,” the Sorcerer roared. “If you ever return to Tel Fyr while I live, I’ll kill you. After I kill you, I’ll give your lifeless body to Mannimarco.” His eyes were like fiery coals and the muscles of his face were tense.

I nodded and walked out the door, happy to be alive. The night sky was beautiful, a silvery orb and thousands of small lights. “What did you help Divayth with?” I couldn’t help but ask.

“J’skooma spoke with Divayth. J’skooma learned Divayth merely wanted to talk,” the Wizard said after a long pause. The winds blew through my hair and I smiled weakly.

A gloved hand covered my mouth as a dagger slid into my flesh. Shortly after, I was asleep… I didn’t know where I was going or who did it, but I knew J’skooma was probably suffering the same treatment.
