The Daring, Crazy, Exciting, and Incredible Adventures of Theldyn the Assassin!

This is going to be my first story ever and i hope it goes well. Just a little about Theldyn: He is very skilled with the Bow and he is quiet fast and agile. He knows a little about poisons and is a great cook. He knows a little in the art of Illusion magic and is great at sneaking and picking locks. He also skilled with the blade. He is a Dunmer with Darker skin than most Dunmer, and he has Red eyes. He wears really dark, almost black leather armor and a black, hooded cloak. So there you have it. that's Theldyn :D

Chapter 1

Morning Star, 1 3E 433

Here I am... sitting in prison. For what reason? I don't know. I was minding my own business, walking down the street of the Imperial City for the first time in my life, and a Guard comes yelling, "Stop! you violated the law!"

I decided that resisting was a bad idea, and i didn't have any money on me to pay the fine, so i went quietly. It's been two days and I've finally convinced the guards to give me a quill and inkwell and a piece of parchment. Conditions in here aren't too horrible, and the food isn't moldy, but there is one inmate a few cells down who is SO annoying! He talks all the time! He mocks the poor guy in the cell across from him. I feel sorry for the guy.

Morning Star, 2

This morning something weird happened. I awoke when they brought me breakfast, and I had a quick chat with the guard. His name is Antus, he likes sweetcakes. He even snuck one in with my breakfast!!!! What a guy! and he told me a little about his family. He has two kids and a beautiful wife. It sounds like a great life. When I asked him when I would get out he said he didn't know but he would see if he could find out for me. Then he left as I enjoyed my breakfast.

Once I had finished my breakfast I sat and listened as the mean Dark Elf was harassing the person in the cell across from him. I heard him call the person an Imperial. A few minutes later some guards came into the dungeon. But they weren't guards. They were Blades, and the Emperor himself! I watched as they entered the Imperial's cell. Then the emperor said something and I heard the sound of voices and footsteps fade away.

I thought about what could have happened, but then I noticed a few extra crumbs from the sweetcake on my plate! I soon forgot about what happened in the cell and did what i've done the last three days. Sat and waited. A few hours after noon Antus came back and let me out of my cell and said that I could leave. I was overjoyed! I followed him out into the main... lobby? hmmm.... perhaps it's called something else but i don't know. Anyway, he went to a chest and gave me all my stuff back. Bow, arrows, katana, armor, and my very special cloak. Hooray! Now i could do what I came to do in the first place! Find my very good friend, Nina Vereth.

After I left the Imperial Prison i went to the Merchant's Inn in the Market District for the night. I bought some dinner and talked to a few people then went to bed so I was ready for my day tomorrow!

Dear anybody who may have been slightly interested in this... i personally don't think that the last post was very good... i was cut short in the middle because a friend came over and i had to stop for a while... so I'm hoping that this next post will be better.

Morning Star 3, 3E 433

This morning I woke up and got ready for the day. I went down stairs and bought some breakfast from the inn keeper, and ate it happily. Then I talked to a few people for a while, and caught up on the latest rumors and gossip, and from what I heard, Kvatch was attacked. Such a shame... it was a nice town.

Soon after I left the Inn and went to the Elven Gardens District. I re-read the note I had received a few weeks earlier.

Dear Theldyn,
How have you been? I've missed you Sooooo much! I hope all is well, and I have a proposition that may interest you. Even if you aren't interested I would like you to come and visit me in the Imperial City.

Love, Your Dearest Friend
Nina Vereth

Nina has been my greatest friend for many years, and we always used to get into great adventures together. When she joined the Blades she had a lot of business to handle and I was called out to Anvil for my area of work. (I am not fond of that job and will speak no further of it)

After reading the note, I looked down the street and saw the house I was looking for, Vereth Manor. The home had been in the family for generations, and was still in great condition. After a very loud and fast sequence of knocks, a Butler answered the door, but Nina was sprinting down the stairs. She must remember the way I like to knock. She greeted me with a warm hug and a light kiss on the cheek.

"Theldyn! It's been too long! I've missed you, how are you? Please come inside and have a seat."
"Why thank you Nina. It has been a long time and I've missed you as well. Wow the place looks nice. I assume you still have you job with the Blades?"
"Yes, and actually that's what I've been wanting to talk to you about. I'm one of the higher ranking officers now, and if you haven't heard already, The Emperor has been murdered by the Mythic Dawn."
"Really when did this happen? I saw the emperor yesterday morning!"
"Yes we were trying to get him our of the city before the Assassin's could get to him, but they knew where we were headed."
"What will the Empire do now? Who will become Emperor?"
"We don't know, all of the heir's have been killed as well, but we are working as hard as we can to solve this matter. That's were you come in. The Blades are in need of new members, and I know you have fighting experience. So.... I was hoping that maybe you'd be interested?"
"Really! Wow! Imagine, Me! A Blade! Wow, of course I accept! It will give us plenty of time to catch up with each other!"
"Yes that sounds good, I'm glad you are so enthusiastic about this. You will be under my command, and most of your missions will be covert ops. That's the kind of thing you're good at right?"
"Yes, I was hoping you would say something like that. I have gotten better with the sword, but I prefer using a Bow."
"Okay good. Well, I have to go do something so I will be out all day. I'm sure you have money, but I insist that you stay here with me. So I've set up my spare bedroom for you, I know you don't like normal clothes so I have stuffed the dressers and closets full of robes and hoods for you. If you need anything my butler, Erval, will help you. I've also left a special gift for you in the nightstand drawer."
"Well Nina, I guess I can't deny this offer so I accept it! I think I will explore the city today and look for, well anything I guess. Thank you for your hospitality."

I gave her one more quick hug and then she left and I turned to go up the stairs to my room. It was enormous! It was bigger than my cottage in Anvil. There were dressers and closets, two chests, one at the foot of the huge bed. There was a desk, with my three favorite books on it. The Black Arrow, V1, Song of Hrormir, and Sacred Witness. There were also two bookshelves. One was full of books that would interest the sneaky, lockpicking, bowshooting, type of guy like me. The other had a Elven Dagger, a bunch of alchemical aparatus's? However you spell that, and some important ingredients, including Nightshade, Bone Marrow, Harrada, and Stinkhorn Caps. I went straight to the nightstand to see the special surprise was. When I opened the drawer I burst into tears of joy! It was an amulet that I had lost on the last mission me and Nina did together.

It was a gift that was given to me by my sister the night before she died. She said it didn't have any special enchantments but it was created by her specially for me and it had the most beautiful blue gemstone tied around a blue tinted silver chain. I had lost it during the fight and was so distraught afterwords that I couldn't think straight for a week. It is the only thing I have left of my sister and I will never lose it again.

Comments are Welcome :D Please note There is a spoiler in this and there may be more in later chapters. They mostly go along with the main storyline for TES IV Oblivion.

Morning Star 4, 3E 433

The rest of the day yesterday I walked around the Elven Gardens District and explored for a while. Then I went back to Nina's house and read a book, and waited for her to return. When she got back we had a nice dinner and talked about what I would be doing in the Blades and she told me more details about the Emperor's death and the Mythic Dawn.

Today, I started off with Breakfast and talking more with Nina. She had to go out once more and meet with some of her superiors for more information about the Mythic Dawn, Kvatch, and what the rest of the Blades were doing. So I decided that I would go to the Market district. I went up to my room and got on some nice blue silk robes and my cloak. I also grabbed the Elven Dagger from the shelf and some extra money.

When I arrived in the Market District I headed straight towards the Main Ingredient. I was going to need to get a good supply of poisons and potions if I was to do any good covert ops. After buying a large bad of Ingredients and and extra Mortar and Pestle, I left to go to the First Edition and find some good books. Soon after wandering into the busy streets, I heard a man yell "Die Unbeliever!" and I heard a dangerous hiss as steel slid against leather. The sound came from behind me and now I heard footsteps running toward me. I stopped, pivoted on my right foot and ducked at the same time, then I reached a hand up to grab the arm of my attacker and punched him in the stomach. Then I slid my own dagger out of its hiding place in the folds of my robes and held it at the tip of his throat. All the commotion around me stopped as people watched to see what would happen next.

"Damn you! Lord Dagon will have your soul!" the man said.

I decided that it would be best to keep him alive, but he had other plans.

"I do not fear death!"

Before I could pull my dagger away he jolted his head forward and killed himself. I pulled the dagger out of his throat and wiped the blood off with a piece of cloth. Then, though he tried to kill me, I folded his arms over his chest, and placed a single nightshade on his hands. Just then, a guard came running over.

"What is going on here?"

Then he spotted the dead Mythic Dawn Agent.

"Who did this? Who killed this man?"

"I did. He attacked me and tried to defend myself, then when I tried to keep him alive he killed himself." I tried to explain the situation, but he didn't look too convinced.

"Is what this man says true?" He asked the people who had gathered around.

There were multiple murmers of agreement and nods.

"Please come with me sir, I have some questions I need to ask you."

So I followed the guard after some backup got there to clean up the street. We went into the nearest guard tower and he offered me a chair, some food, and some wine.

"Did the man say anything about who he was or give any hints at all as to why he attacked you?"

"Before he attacked he called me an Unbeliever and he told me that Lord Dagon would have my soul. Then right before he died he said, I do not fear death." I told him after a few gulps of wine. "I am a Blade, well, I guess I haven't technically been pronounced a Blade by ceremony or anything like that. I haven't had a mission yet or anything, but I am a Blade."

"Ok, well I guess I will have to let you handle it then. Report this incident to your superior's at once."

"I will, thank you... And thank you for the wine" I added cheerfully as I walked out the door.

Now, I finally made my way to The First Edition. I bought four books. Dwemer History and Culture, Frontier Conquest, Galerion The Mystic, and The Last King of the Aleyids. They all looked like very interesting books.

After that I thought about going to a weapons store, but decided to just go back home. I hoped that Nina was back by now so I could tell her about what happened to me today, but if she wasn't I had some reading to do. When I got there I greeted Erval and asked him if Nina was home. He said that she wasn't so I thanked him and went up to my room to read.

A few hours later I heard the door open and went downstairs to see if it was Nina, and it was.

"Why hello there Nina! How was your day, because mine was quiet interesting."

"Why hello yourself Theldyn! My day was fine, and I have some slightly heartwarming news. Though, I think I would like to hear about your day first."

"Well have a seat and I will tell you. I was walking down the street after buying some ingredients, on my way to the First Edition book store, when I heard a yell and a man run at me. I stopped the man's attack and held him at knife point. After yelling some nasty insults he slammed his throat into my blade." I took a deep breath because I decided it would be fun to try and explain it all in one breath.

"Wow! That is an interesting day!"

"Oh, that's not all. The man was a Mythic Dawn Agent." I said in a more serious tone. That struck a nerve, and she was suddenly even more interested than before.

"Is that so? What did he say? Did he give you any useful information?"

"Unfortunately, No. He didn't give me any useful information. He just said that Lord Dagon would have my soul."

"Damn, it's too bad he died."

"I don't think we would have got much out of him anyway."

"Yes, you are probably right. Well, on a lighter note, we have learned that there was a prisoner in the cell we used to try and get the emperor out. After he escaped he went to Kvatch and saved the people in the city. He even managed to close the Gate to Oblivion!" Then in a lower whisper she said, "Tomorrow morning at first light I want you to have all your important belongings packed, we are going to set out to Cloud Ruler Temple. I will tell you more there."

Then after that we finished eating our dinner that was set out for us and we talked about less important matters. After dinner I went upstairs and got to work making some potions and poisons, and after about two hours of that I packed all that I needed, and I went to bed.

Very interesting! I like the way you made it from another prisoners view when the Blades came, instead of the Imperial's view. I'd like to see more to this later:)
