Toggle Sneak Button

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:33 am

I don't like to fight too much, so when I'm walking in the wilderness or something, I always push down the sneak button. The problem is, it gets too tiring after a while, especially in Morrowind, because of all the Cliff Racers. My arm turns sore after a while. I want to suggest a toggle sneak button, so that with one press, you can be in sneak for as long as you want.

When I'm wandering around Morrowind, I don't want to have to buy or lug around any potions, and I don't want to risk my life on a spell being successful. Sneak is quick, cheap, and usually effective, and also counts towards my level. What do you think?

My fingers are fairly dexterous, so I don't mind having to hold down the sneak button (Keyboard, of course.) to get my sneak on. Besides, when it toggles, I always forget to un-toggle it and end up accidentally picking somebodies pocket.

As I recall, there already is a sneak toggle...

Good times.

But Oblivion did this like in above post.

So you should be good.

Just so you know, if you play on the Xbox you can push down on the Joystick (left I think) until it clicks or maybe it is a double tap (it has been 8 years since I played that game on the console) to Force Sneak.

However, if you are on PC, there are many mods that allow you Force Sneak. Me, I just remapped the Sneak key to the Left Control Key that is easilly held down by my Pinky.

However I would imagine that they will include a Force Sneak in TESV as they had it in Oblivion.

It would be nice if it was hold to toggle, and press to perform a single sneaky action. It always felt a little weird to be skulking around in broad daylight just so you could pickpocket someone. Typically, you would use some sort of distraction to pull that off, rather than trying not to be seen at all.

have you never played Oblivion? they already have that, maybe you should try before Skyrim comes out, so you can criticize something that is an issue
