Ambidexterity

I heard them saying that weapons are drag and drop for hands, allowing for you to dual wield and the like. But would that also mean you can put a shield on your right arm and play as a lefty?

Bringing up the far more interesting option of dual wielding shields.
Just something to think about.

I believe that's how it works. They said you can put any weapon in any hand. I assume that means shields as well.

A few people have mentioned this and we have no specifics on whether or not you can use the left as your main hand.

Sure sounds like you could play either handed.

I doubt it. Offhand penalties will probably apply as usual.

All but confirmed. imo. this would definitly please alot of people who are lefty. obviously since each hand has it own slot, we will be picking which hand we use for what. it was easy for them to do and it won't have the affect of 50% of people who are either left handed or right being mildly put out.

I doubt it. Offhand penalties will probably apply as usual.

I seriously doubt there will be penelties, gamesas almost never creates situations where you are penalized for playing the game a certain way, they try to balance their games with out restricting how people interact.

That doesn't really make any sense in a TES game.

It would be interesting, and might make combat a bit different depending if you or your enemies are lefties.

A left handed hero would be a revolution in gaming. Haha

would be interesting (at least certainly more challenging) I don't think it would affect your effectivness fighting enemies, since (based on assumption since the engine is new) in past tes games they were not tracking what specific areas of the enemies bodies your weapon was hitting.

would be interesting it you could block an enemy blow by swinging your sword directly at the enemy weapon, it would make blocking wtith dual weild better and dynamic.

Link is left handed.
It makes sense though. If you equip a sword in the right and a fire ball in the left, then put the sword away to cast a healing with the right, and then put the fire ball away to re equip the sword, the game would have to unequip your healing spell and re-equip it to the left hand. seems kind of stupin, imho.

Maybe you'll need an ambidextrous perk to offset using two weapons.

I wonder whether it will have any gameplay implications like for a boxer or a tennis player.

considering the potential of what we are conversing about, that would be a waste of a perk. there isn't a reason for not including ambidexterity now that we will be able to specificly equip for each hand.
