Will they be sparate?

So is Brink pretty much just singleplayer, but your friends can join you online and play the story with you, or will there be a separate multiplayer? Think of it this way, all COD games have a singleplayer and multiplayer option, is there only going to be story mode but people can join you or will there be a separate multiplayer? I'm confused about this.

It's Mingleplayer (This is the offical term).

You just hit play game. I'd imagine you then pick if you want to play against bots, friends, or online.
If you play against bots, you can call friends over to play with you instantly. You can even swap to playing against people online at any time.

"Multiplayer" is just playing the campaign but with real people. Bots take up the remaining space.

Now I know what you're thinking. "Oh cheese's rice, I'm going to play with BOTS?"

Stop. Now. This isn't COD. Don't think about COD and thier not-exactly-human bots.

Every single person who has played BRINK has reported that the bots are incredibly human-like, and often play better than you.

There will be drop in-drop out singleplayer, Co-Op (Online multiplayer playing a campaign), and Multiplayer (Two teams playing on opposite sides). Think of it as being more similar to Left 4 Dead style.

I get that you've probably just heard of Brink but could you please read the info compendium first before asking questions.
Thanks :D

No I've pre-ordered Brink and I know almost everything about it, I just didn't understand the mingleplayer part, that's all.

*Sigh* So we're calling it Mingleplayer now?

Fine. <_<

To answer the OPs question, everything is blended seamlessly. So Multiplayer, Co-op, and Single player are all basically the same.

One of the official slideshows referred to it as Mingleplayer, so Mingleplayer it is :D

Basically the multiplayer and Co-op in this game are separate but in the same maps as singleplayer and with the same objectives. I know this is not exactly how it works but it is a weird concept to explain through posts.

The single player campaign is divided into the Resistance campaign and the Security sampaign, Co-op is the single player campaign played with friends, and Multiplayer is two groups of players playing the two different campaigns against each other.

I might seem crazy, but I for one would have preferred definitive single and multiplayer game modes.

Now dont get me wrong; knowing Splash Damage I'm sure this "Mingleplayer" will turn out to be intuitive and fun, but I want to finish the campaign and find a whole new experience in the multiplayer.

Then again it might just be me.
