I'm downloading Daggerfall. Any advice for where to start in the game?

P.S. I'm so proud of myself. I successfully installed Daggerfall and I know nothing about computers.

What do you mean by "where to start"?

Start by generating a fairly vanilla character. You can always go custom class later. There is a tutorial dungeon called Pirate's Hold that will walk you through using skills, items, etc. Once you get through that, you should receive a letter telling you to meet someone at a location. Once you are in a major city, you will find Guilds, Merchants, etc.

DO use fast-travel between locations.
