I'm paying for 6 mbps, and i get on average .06 mbps down, and like 1.80 mbps up.

I don't know what there problem is. It's making me mad. Anyone else had any problems with them?

My internet cuts out at times and I know it's not my router.

Unlike most people, I actually don't have a problem with Comcast. I get every one of my 22 Mbps. Call them and see what's up.

Same here. I get very unreliable speeds. Sometimes it'll be a normal 400kbps, and sometimes I won't even be able to load a JPEG image in less than a minute because it's downloading at like 5kbps.

If I actually had a choice I'd use another ISP, but Comcast is my only option, so it's what I've got to use.

Well, I'm not 100% sure about this but my computer science teacher told me that Comcast speeds aren't the speeds you get all the time because everyone living in the same area as you uses the same "node", meaning they are using a part of your speed in a way. So your being told your getting kick ass speed, but your not really getting it all the time.

My cable is comcast, the on demand feature is pretty sweet, I can watch adventure time when it fits into my schedule, not cartoon network's. Oh great, I sound like a cheesy commercial.

Yeah. I would choose someone else as well, but it's either them and century link.

My speed is reliable, just way slower than it's supposed to be. I'm going to try calling sometime this week, but i don't expect much. I had to call them several times just to get them to come install it.

They somehow kept loosing my order. Then, i get a date set for them to come instal and everything, i wait and the no one shows up. I call the next day, and, no trace of the order still. I've had nothing but trouble out of these people.


Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper.

That said, I don't have Comcast. I've got FiOS, and I love it.

I have had problems with their cable service. Ever since we've switched to digital we've had audio get cut out (simple enough fix *usually*), we've had audio off track (though sometimes it's the actual tv station but a lot of times it's comcast), and then we've had video and audio cut (most notably during football season right when an important play was about to happen).

I miss Comcast... I had 50mbps in Seattle, but now that I moved to Texas I am stuck with the fastest the state has to offer through Time Warner at a blistering 15mbps... at the same price too. :sadvaultboy:

Yeah my parents are paying for it here too. And i have the lowest, i have a feeling upgrading wont do much anyway.

I used to have it for about 10 years, my internet cut out at least 6 times a day.. then i finally moved to another company, never had a problem since.

DSL is perfectly fine if you live in a city or anywhere that's not rural. I think it's less affected by how many people are using the same ISP as Comcast. The problem is if you live in rural areas DSL will not be very high speed at all. The closer you are to the node, the better speeds you get.

I'm paying for something like 20Mbps, about $40 a month. It's an incredible deal, but I also live in an apartment-like three story barracks with 350 other people who also use Comcast, so I've never seen a download faster than 700kbps. As you can imagine, it gets slower than dial up during peak hours.

Thats highly unlikely that it gets slower then dial-up ^^ Have you ever truly experienced dial-up? I'd take your cable internet at peak times over my dial-up any day of the week, and I'd be thankful for it. LOL. I look forward to the day that DSL or anything high-speed makes its way up here to the top of the mountain.

I have had only one minor outage in 8 months. It was down for 30-60 minutes.

The TV portion of their service has been less stable, but has been mostly resolved by new STBs and a refresh signal. Very little pixelation/tiling. I wish the DVR held more shows .

For those with problems, it is possible that it is an internal cabling problem, a bad splitter, and/or having the cable modem in the wrong location (having the modem after the line is split multiple times, or having a modem connected after an amplifier).
