Longevity Of Skyrim

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:20 am

Let’s just start with this. TES games today I have play are 3 and 4. Oblivion I went 300 hours Morrowind probably more. I have taken a break as I have gotten into the Fallout's in many others of the wonderful games out today and until very recently haven’t played a TES game in maybe a year or so? My roommate bought oblivion and started playing and I was watching him and though man this game is still totally righteous. So I go out buy 2 copies of Morrowind and Oblivion for myself and my brother and we have both just gone back to town on both of them. Currently in about a month I’m 50 hours into Oblivion and I’m not sure with Morrowind. So out of a 5 and 8 years respectively on these titles I can still go back rebuy them and still play both with the same enjoyment and wow factor. That being said these games have a longevity like no other. So if you had to guess do you think Skyrim have more less or equal amounts of longevity as previous titles have?

Meh. Depends on how much time I'll have to play it, coupled with expansions. I dumped 700 hours into Morrowind during my first summer with it when I was 14, and that's not counting any other time spent with it in the 7 years since. But that's just unrealistic as an expectation now, thanks to school and work and other unpleasantries.

I'll probably get over the 300 or 400-hour mark.

I've been pretty much playing both Morrowind and Oblivion since they came out. I'll take breaks to play through other games but I always come back to them. So, I think I can safely say Skyrim will be at the very least the same. But I voted, just based on the information we have, that it will surpass both of them.
