Breezes FO3 Males BAIN ready or conversion?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:37 pm

Hey there,

Did anyone got it managed to convers the great http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4719 into a BAIN Mod?
I tried for hours, step by step, worked through his fomm install script to make it right, but my f******* bodys never show up right.

So, my question, Could anyone who already made it, give me an advice how to manage it myself or upload his fileconversion somewhere? Would be great.

And to avoid comments like "use the fomod" , i guess i dont have to mention that there's much more control about mods via BAIN install .. ok,no scripts yet, but hey ..

BAIN has an install wizard function - so there are scripts just not for FOMM translation.

I looked at doing and know that I could - mostly it would be about extracting the main package and separating out the resources into optional sub-packages then extracting the fixes to those sub-packages as well.

Much like I did with Roberts 4 for Oblivion http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1084204-bain-mod-installation-projects/page__view__findpost__p__15840792.

I still find it amazing that Breeze opted to have extremely slick FOMM install scripts with splash screens and all for his 2 patches off of the original mod than just repackage that mod. Needless complication.

This is the only mod other than Darn where I use the FOMM.

Actually thats exactly the way i've tried it.
Folder and Subfolder-structure looking similar.
But somehow it will not work. Renamed the .nifs to exactly what is written in his script and so on. I even dont know where i could start to find my mistake.

And btw, what about this Install Wizard funtion? Would it be possible to use his script in BAIN ?

Edit:
Ok,finally i nearby understand what's the thing with that BCF files. But how it looks, there is no chance to use his script, coz it's too complex, right?
Seems like i have to accept that there's no way to deal with it via BAIN install .. what a pity..

Yeah I gave up too.

I was able to put like 4 female body mods into one BAIN package, but my head got too spun trying to decipher breezes and still blown away by his deluxe packaging of patches instead of fixing the original mod.

Plus it works well enough as a FOMM and I just don't want to spend the time reverse engineering that mod.

You can learn about BAIN Installer Wizard in the readme of wrye bash (don't use the online readme it is outdated) but I only know of one mod in Oblivion that uses a BAIN script and none in F3. In fact I know of no overtly BAIN oriented mods in F3 at all. Plenty that are BAIN friendly but none that makes use of BAIN structure to provide mod options. FOMM scripts having nothing to do with BAIN and cannot be used by BAIN.

Wrye Bash grew exponentially when Wrye worked closely with modders to implement features and due to bash being ported over late with F3 and other factors that relationship between modder and tool maker never happened. I see this as why Oblivion modding is still fairly robust and why it remained strong 3 years after Oblivion came out.

Hopefully by the time NV is out Valda will port it over. Then maybe when Tes 5 is out Wrye will finally be burnt out on WoW.
