Maybe, just maybe.

I didn't enjoy CoD very much at all, however something that was enjoyable to me was the vast array of weaponry. I thought that added a lot of fun when playing with friend when I could run around with a tomahawk or an exploding crossbow. I know that the MP in BRINK is the SP so it would be really hard to implement goofy guns, but that's just something I like.

What do you guys think of this?

brink has a very good selction of guns IMO, also alot guns in COD were very similar to each other, but hands down brinks fun and replay factor will blow COD away

Hes asking if we want "Different" guns in Brink, such as Explosive Crossbows, Ballistic Knifes, and Tomahawks.

In my opinion? No. If COD has something Brink doesn't, why must we always put up a new thread discussing it, which then leads to flame wars? I don't mean to be rude, but this needs to stop.

You mean like the repetitive use of the same sights for over 7 guns which 3 of those did the same damage, mag capacity, and fire rate? :)

By different he must mean skin wise not actually different like oh let's say Customizing your both skin and stat wise.
And by different guns you must not be counting the over 2,000 different guns you could use in Brink. :)

I want a toy grenade launcher to fire potatoes with a stick of dynamite attached to it.

It'll work exactly like the Lobster GL.

Why does everybody get so defensive, he had a valid question

Having different goofy guns is fun if it fits into the game, that was prolly the ONLY good thing about Bulletstorm

And since Brink has this ultra-realistic art style you would almost Expect to see some weird guns

Personally im glad that they dont, i like how they took real guns and just gave them that little tweak

But in a world with a place like the Ark, which has automated turrets and crazy hack devices and robots the fact that you are still tossing a Molotov cocktail around might just imply that there ALREADY IS goofy weapons ;)

Well since those are RL replicas and in RL the sight DO all look pretty similair, along with REALLY having the same dmg, capacity as it would translate to a video game

And by different guns he meant things like the ballistic knife, and tomahawk, meaning unconventional weapons that most ppl dont use but are still pretty fun to mess around with

You dont have to all be jerks just because he mentioned COD

and by 2000 different guns im sure you meant 2000 combinations for guns, I mean theres only TWO light rifles

Exactly.

Sure its nice to get your decked out AR or SMG and wreak havok. But I also enjoy goofy ways to kill people like in MAG where you could kill someone with a repair kit; classic.

And no, I don't think BRINK should have everything CoD does. In fact I hope to god it has numerous things different, but this is just an aspect of weaponry that I find fun in MP style games. Imagine if we could could have different melee weapons than just the butt of a gun or a knife, but to run around with brass knuckles or a taser... That would be funny.

I would like something that you could throw and cause serious damage if impacted in vital areas. Not the arm or leg.....but chest and head. Same damage as the Molotov or maybe even if it knocked someone down. That would be fun.

It would just have to be something good. Something that can be thrown but wouldn't be expected to kill instantly. Like a grenade that would incap a person ONLY if it made contact to the actual person. Not a proximity thing.

Yeah, but Real life guns are made to kill people. Dying isn't fun.

Video game guns are made for the game. Gaming is fun. Thus, the need to balance weaponry.

I just thought of the taser when writing that, but I honestly think that having a taser could be tactical, practical, and fun the use. It would also fit into the game universe.

Call of Duty kind of gives a mixed example for this, I think. Sure, you had everything from handguns to MG-42s to launchers, but then (I'm using MW2 since that's the more modern CoD I know best) you had things like the Scar-H and the Tar-21 or the M16 and the Famas. The only real difference between those guns was circular or vertical recoil, btw.

Do you think a Drognav with a selection of stability upgrades and a Reflex Sight will handle the same as a scoped and silenced one? Pretty sure they'll feel like different weapons.
