WMK and unique weapons

Hi,

I am not sure if that is a known issue, but the WMK doesn′t work with A3-21′s Plasma Rifle and Victory Rifle.
I am using FEW + MMM + PB + WMK + EVE.

Everything is perfectly installed. (FOSE, FOMM, load order, Merged Patch, etc.)

You can't mod unique weapons with FWE, that's by design.

Ah, that may be why one of mine isn't working. MadCat has a WMK plugin for his Awesomefied Plasma Rifle and I can't get it to work for the A3-21. I assumed it would work. But I also use FWE. Oh well.
I do remember reading in one of the threads that unique weapons can't be modified with WMK, as there are different models getting around, and they can't cover them all. FWE has a different one, and I think has removed all plasma rifles altogether (even though in my game I switched them back as that annoyed me).
Not to worry. There are plenty of WMK-modifiable weapons to choose from :)

We didn't remove Plasma Rifles, they're all there + new variants and all are WMK-able :)


Anyhows OP, Unique weapons are not WMK-able in FWE. For model and balancing reasons.
In vanilla Fallout3 unique weapons use regular weapon models, in FWE they have unique models and often also unique attributes. For example some unique assault rifles are silenced and scoped by default.

I got the impression one of you doesn't like plasma anythings and replaced them all. I do like Kikai's gun, in her own mod, as a standalone, just not as a complete replacement for the A3-21 and all plasma rifles into a laser

Then there are the new sounds for most of the weapons, firing, equip/unequip sounds, etc. But, I made my own esp to undo all that as I seem to be the only one who doesn't like the new changes.
I haven't seen any of the original plasma rifles so far in version 6.

Could a plugin be made (I could do it myself if it's possible) to override FWE preventing WMK-able unique weapons? Despite some things I don't like in it I couldn't disable it entirely. There is a lot of things in it I do like :)

But the Enclave weapons list now include many more weapons in FWE, so you won't see them spawn as consistently(and plasma weapons are limited to higher Tier Enclave troops).

Sure. Actually all you need to do is open your Merged Patch and look for the WMK proscribed weapons formlist. That list basically has the entries that prevent weapon modifications for certains weapons and if you remove an entry from there you are able to modify the weapon again.
Just note that if you use the FWE unique weapon models and apply a weapon modkit, the weapon will revert to the vanilla model and stats.

That makes sense, and why I probably haven't seen any. I don't hunt Enclave at my current level (13) so haven't really run across any high tier troops yet.

That's not a happy thought. I used to have a favourite pistol, that I modified myself, to include a silencer and extended clip but when I installed FWE for the first time it was no better than a water pistol so I had to pick something else.
Maybe I'll just leave it, then :)
