No, it won't. Listen to the podcast and you'll get some backround information.

I have been waiting for a Viking game/game with Viking influences for ages... And you won't destroy it, sir. Oh no.
besides, I'm sure there will be several other cultures, especially Dunmer.

I definitely think the Dunmer belong in Skyrin, especially under the mountains and/or in the mines. The Nords would own the above lands though, and should be 90%+ of the population.

Still, in every distant land there are small groups or individuals of other cultures that venture there for a better life, or were fleeing persecution/prosecution in their home lands. So despite the Strong Viking/Nordish influence, I still think we'll see a diversity of races.

I expect a reasonably strong Anglo-Saxon and Celtic influences, too; that's at least the vibe I got from Nords in Morrowind.

I have to admit that i`m quite happy with the whole Nordic/Viking theme in this game (well it is the home of the Nords anyway).

I love Morrowind when it came out but was not a fan of the Telvanni or Redoran architecture particularly, so i guess i`m not bothered so much.

I wasn't a particularly huge fan of it but it definitely gave the game a very unique feel and drew you into the world. Cyrodil just kinda feels like medieval europe instead of a fantasy world. Which most fantasy games do anyways. But I'm a much bigger fan of something out of the ordinary that actually draws you up into the world with culture you're not familiar with and new things to discover. Instead it just feels like you already know what the reaction will be to what you do. Like say you know you wouldn't be able to talk to a noble like he's a commoner, etc ,etc. What you wouldn't know is the Ashlander customs and the customs of both the temple and houses. Sure you had a pretty good guess but a lot of it you had to figure out along the way. So hopefully they'll throw things like that in as well but it's rather unlikely given that it's based of Norse culture you can bet the vast majority of it will be "THATS IT WE'RE FIGHTING TO THE DEATH! IF I WIN I'M KILLING YOUR WHOLE FAMILY AND TAKING THEIR EYES." Problem solving at it's best.

Does it have to be all viking? Yes it does :) , we're in Skyrim, land of the Nords, the vikings of TES.

Seriously though, I doubt they'd go for a monotone feel.

This, and BTW there is concept art of the Orc armour if you wonder about if it will look nordic or not.

IMO: Useless thread/rant is useless.

Jack, haven't you brought up the same basic argument in each thread you've made? I feel like I just saw you complain about the "cultureshock" of the game regarding the lack of Eastern cultural influences a few weeks back.

I'm sorry dude, but I just don't care for your discussion threads. They're fairly irrelevant to the core of the game itself. Skyrim is about the homeland of the Nords - who are based on the Vikings. It's not like Morrowind where the Empire had its own colonies because of its occupation; it's not like Cyrodiil, which is the heart of the Empire; it's Skyrim, the isolationist capital of the aggressive and war-like Nordic people, who have little desire if any to assimilate with the rest of the continent, let alone allow other cultures to affect them.

So if you're going to bring criticisms to the table about the game, I suggest you embrace what the game is at its heart before attempting to make offerings of improvement.

Sorry...but i have to agree with this too.

That was the magic about morrowind that was missing in Oblivion. You had the 3 houses and there cities each uniquely styled, then you had imperial cities/towns a totally different style medieval with a hint of High Roman, then there was Vivec itself, then the tribal villages, and glorious mournhold. All different yet all elder scrolls.

oblivion...yeah copy/pasta the culture.
