Weeks Till Release of Brink Yet No Reviews?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 9:27 pm

Brink will be released in a few weeks and I still cannot find any REviews of this game...plenty of PREviews but not an in depth rating and review. Is this the norm in the industry? I am on the fence as whether I should buy this or not after been hugely disappointed in my pre-order of Homefront.

Does anyone know of any reviews yet? If so please post them here and thank you.

Their aren't any full out reviews yet, but there are articles from PAX saying that everybody enjoyed the game.

Also they had a gaming preview. Here's the link to the article. http://www.kitguru.net/software/gaming/darkliquid/brink-shown-exclusively-at-multiplay-i42-%e2%80%93-hands-on/

Generally devs don't send out journalism copies 16 days before launch.

There are links to previews, interviews and more there.

And I found a lot by using google. ;)

It svcks but what can you do besides go about your day and wait.

We usually don't see reviews these days until at east 1 day before release.

I personally think it'll be weird to see a review before the game comes out since it's mostly centered on online multiplayer. Would've be tricky to judge without first taking it to street and playing with joes like us, huh? Not to mention, to give a fair review, they'd have to hit level 20. Who knows how long that would take.

Your anticipation must be killing you. Journalist copies come out a week before release, 10 days max.

Then they have to play it, and write the review.

So minimum 4 - 5 days for that - expect 5 days early AT BEST.

Later still if the reviewer isn't on-site and they have to get the game to him.

I'm already sold on this game but here's a Quote from this article..

"From our eye-watering and ear-popping first look, it seems that Brink is fully capable of fulfilling Splash Damage's mission in blurring the lines between single and multiplayer, and doing so in a way that's fast-paced, gutsy and full of thrills. Brink is more than just noise – it's also shaping up to be one of the definitive shooter experiences of next year. "
