Conan the Barbarian teaser trailer

Well, looks like Hollywood is about to murder another good old movie...

It′s not the official trailer, but looks pretty dumb.
What do you think?

Funny how Arnold really made the movie, besides of course Basil Poledouris.
The movie might be mediocre at best

Are they really that dumb?

Some movies like The Karate Kid can be remade since it's quite general a story and the original wasn't that good to begin with.

But Conan the Barbarian? How can you remake the epic confrontation of Arnold Schawarzenegger and James Earl Jones? You cant! The movie even won a Golden Globe (something insane when you think about the kinds of movies that usually win those.)

I know I wont be watching it.

I'll still go see it, unless future teasers show it to be a cheesy CGI remake.

A lot of it's success will depend on the soundtrack. If Conan The Barbarian didn't have the soundtrack it did it wouldn't have been nearly as good.

Well in the original a lot of the scenes they wanted to do they simply couldn't due to special effects limitations. The snake fight was supposed to be grander, and when he found his sword he was supposed to have a battle with the skeletons.

In the end it's the simplification of those scenes paired with the epicness of Basil Poledouris that made it epic.

CGI can either enhance or ruin this movie. Star Wars prequels vs LOTR. One is epic, one is cheesy.

Like I said in the comments, needs more Basil Poledouris.

And like I said, hope it doesn't wind up cheesy like the Star Wars prequels. It's too soon to tell, but apparently it's the same production company that made the newest Rambo, so it could be really good and really violent. It needs to be a serious and bloody movie, not a movie made for the PG-13 crowd.

It can't compare. When I hear sword and sorcery, I think this trailer in terms of stabilization. Literally something from a different era with different themes, I seriously doubt even the most prodigious film makers among us could recreate that feel.

Edit
This new trailer can't even get the music right. What is that? Alternative rock or something? I can't even tell.

To be fair it's not a trailer, it's more a fan-made combo of tiny clips. But they have to get the soundtrack right. It can't have any modern-sounding tracks like rock or metal. That instantly sends it down the "cheesy" road.

Doesn't look great, but the original film svcked too so I'm not bothered. Only reason to watch that one is because Arnold is hilarious. If I want a good Conan story I'll stick to the books.

The original is my favorite movie of all time, even more than the original Star Wars and Superman.

It is going to be a bad movie, cause I heard a woman mentioned the word "knight". And Conan doesn't need to explain, he would just [censored] her instead.

Wait... Wasn't that the guy from SG Atlantis? Anyways, Conan doesn't need a remake. Conan the Barbarian was for all intents and purposes the perfect Conan movie. You're not going to top it. My recommendation would be to make a movie with the same style as Conan but with an original IP. Call it Barbarian or something if you want. That way you can rip off a franchise without destroying it and might make an interesting original franchise in the process.

Edit: Okay, I have to know because this is going to be bugging me all night. What pea brained idiot of a director had the graqenuts to even think "You know, I bet I can make a Conan movie better than the original..."?
