Promotion!

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:25 pm

I made a similar topic over at the SD forums but I enjoy seeing some creativity from players.

I'm sure Brink has gotten it's attention from SD's rep and people spreading it by word of mouth which is probably what has brought Brink to most peoples attention. I'm wondering what you guys have done to help promote Brink. Again most will probably word of mouth but I know some people here have posted articles on certain websites and even some people have been lucky enough to get interviews with some of the developers! SO what are you doing to help promote Brink?

As for me I made ahttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKKjG9DRBWM just to give some people an idea about what its about.

But know I'm starting to see more advertisemants for Brink like on websites like IGN, youtube, and even in stores like gamestop. But how much more do you think the advertising will grow since the release is getting oh-so-closer?

I will probably make a youtube channel with commentary while playing BRINK so some of my friends can see what it's about maybe make a series and pimp it out on facebook, since my UFC group has like 400 people might as well.

I think SD is doing the standard advertisment campaign,i didn't learn about Brink by word of mouth at least but because of their promotional campaign.

I never have done anything about games, they don't need this kind of support if they do what is right, meaning polished game to a level of 95 i would say and after that
an interactive support.

Thats all the advertisment a game needs.after that the enthusiasm of gamers will take over. They don't anything but theit own intelligence.

I wonder how much people will stick with BRINK when battlefield 3 comes out - maybe just the super hardcoe players.

I'll play both.. I look at BRINK as my sci fi arcade shooter, while BF3 will be my modern realistic shooter.

I want in.

Anyways, my friend and I come into class every morning giggling like schoolgirls (maybe an exaggeration) and have a countdown of how many days 'till launch *cough*16*cough*. Most people are like "wtf are you talking about". If they're not CoD drones we usually tell them and they're like "ill check it out"

Well I would play both for seperate reasons. Brink for SMART, bots, and objective class based gameplay.

Battlefield 3 is for large scale vehicle warfare.

And the standard "Take this M4A1, you're now a Marine in the US Marine Corps, son! Kick them Iraqi asses!"-deal.

i love Brink so much more then BFBC or CoD everything in it makes sense to me and even IF BF and CoD steps up they're game and brings more features too the table i'll still love Brink more for it's art design and it's awesomeness.

on topic: i think Brink's advertisemants will definitely pick up in the last week or two or at least once it starts selling.

Thats what its about?

I'll pass. So tired of games like that.
I'll be playing Brink thanks. lol

Edit: I'm more of a community guy, so I post on the forums quite a bit.
I feel that a big piece to ensuring a game stays active is keeping the community peaceful and active.
When Brink comes out, I'd like to do commentary or something similar.
I'm being used for the Machinima, so hopefully it goes well.

I sent them PM's on Youtube and i posted comments on their channel and video's.
But i got the message to them by making a thread about it on their website. Actually GUNNS4HIRE's wife MailLace (yes im using their gamertags) read it and told him about it. She said that he would make a vid about it soon and that he was really excited to see how it will turn out.
No, i personally dont know them.

And REVOLUZZER yes it is mainly the COD croud. But they also make tons of vids of Minecraft, Portal 2, Killzone 3, Bulletstorm, BFBC 2, and others.

I'll check out everyone video of BRINK hopefully I become good enough to feel confident to do competitions if it ends up being that sort of game, (I svck at everything) I am super hyper up about it - I try to listen to some commentary videos but I find myself more interested in Mike Ross & Gootecks their personalities seem likeable so it makes watching the game footage enjoyable too - I should call my show noob perspective
