I've came to a conclusion about PSN being down...

Well since Anonymous always takes responsibility for causing trouble we can safely say that it's not them, they even say they didn't do it. So the PSN is down a day after Anonymous threatens revenge on Sony, well it is probably just Sony making the PS3 much more secure because they are rebuilding PSN. I doubt anyone hacked it, it could be that Sony just didn't plan this and it came up so suddenly, they've never had a successful attempt at there system being hacked before so when they are being threatened by a group of very skilled hackers they drop PSN very quick and begin maintenance. Seems very reasonable if this is the issue.

Doesn't this belong in Community Discussion? Intersesting theory, though.

They've said it was an outside factor, and just because "Anonymous" didn't take credit for it doesn't mean Anonymous did it. Anonymous isn't a coordinated organized group. Just because some members sent a statement saying they weren't responsible doesn't mean other members of Anonymous did so.

Rumor has it that a small number of people from [censored] found what is basically a backdoor to Sony's PSN, that can't support much traffic as normal access does. These certain people flooded this backdoor with massive amounts of raw data, and tore apart the servers. It shouldn't have been down more than a couple hours, at most, but from what I've gathered, Sony is completely redoing their servers, in light of the two attacks, to make it harder to take down their servers. It looks like it'll be done in the next week, at the most.

Well, they say it might be down for a week or so. I like your theory about them making it more secure. Plus, who cares? People can't go 14 days without PS3? This is what we have computers for.

Anonymous said they were gong to attack sony cus of their lawsuit with Geohot. Geohot bricked the ps3, then sony "upgraded" their security and Geohot hacked it again a few days later. Now he's getting sued and anonymous is pissed bout it. Sony's security svcks...a lot.

Without PSN, how are we to fully enjoy titles such as Portal 2 or Socom 4? We can't.

So no, we can't go 14 days without PSN. :sadvaultboy:

Hey, we aren't going to discuss PSN or Anonymous here. Sorry,
