Are you always on the same faction?

Security looks real cool. But on one of your videos it showed that you could customize both faction people.

No, you can switch between factions before games.

Each of your characters gets two looks; One for Security and one for Resistance.

You are allowed to set which Faction you would prefer to be on, or it will be chosen at random. You do not permanently join either faction.

Hope that helps.

Your character can be played on both sides, but you can't swap mid-mission - only between games.

You can create alternate appearances for your characters? I thought you had to create your characters with a set faction...That makes things simpler.

You may as well considering how horribly skewed it appears to be. That is unless you think sidearms will be the most used weapon type, lights will make up 62% of the player base, and roughly a fourth of the people who took the poll won't be buying Brink because of its lack of female characters.

I know I don't believe it anymore.

Yep. I remember when I took it the first time Xbox 360 was the most chosen platform, with Playstation 3 in last place. Resistance and Security were pretty even, with Resistance actually leading by a couple percent. SpecOps was still the leading pre-order pack, but not by anywhere near as far as it is now. And I'm sure there's more, but I already closed the window and I don't feel like retaking the poll to see. :P

Yea it said preferred class to play was Operative by 61% which is def a drastic change from the 45% last time I saw with Eng being something in 30% and medic in a close 3rd place. If it really is accurate i'm a little scared there wont be too many buffs going around lol.

Those figures sound a little off to me.

Only 1/4 of people refusing to play because of the lack of females? I call hax.

What? The OTHER numbers? No, they're fine. >60% Operatives is totally reasonable and justified. And sidearms have been made pretty OP since the game was released 3 weeks from now.

Ha, I'm sure there will be. Following that scenario, you'll probably have a couple of frustrated ops that can't get operative objectives done because there's an overflow of them on the team. I'm sure some of these guys'll think, "Well.. I suppose we could use an engineer or a medic."

The other numbers are fine? Are you joking? 34% (or whatever it is) for sidearms would be more realistic if it was only talking about revolvers, with at least another 25% using machine pistols.

Operatives should probably be higher also, as they're basically Jack Bauer/Jason Bourne/James Bond meshed into one persona, and considering each of them has killed enough to people to start an army, imagine the damage EIGHT Operatives could do. Especially if they each get their own Aston Martin.

Though I will say, you're probably right about the whole female hax thing. I know I won't be buying Brink because of it - I just hang out here because it's cool. That, and because I love voting in the immense amount of polls asking what body type, faction, or class everyone wants to be.

I like how 26% of responses said they won't buy the game because of the lack of females, but 76% said they've already pre-ordered...

Those figures look legit.

Especially considering another 17% picked not sure - meaning 26% of voters committed to not buying the game, but only 7% committed to not pre-ordering. If that's not a spot representation of Brink's player base, I don't know what is.

EDIT: Or maybe they're only pre-ordering to resell the codes!
