Payment

So I have been tracking this game for sometime now and I have played Quake wars and Enemy territory a lot. So I have been seeing that this game has a lot of content and a lot of items. Something I wanted to ask is that would we have to pay for such things. I mean I can understand if I have to pay for cosmetic stuff, a lot of games do that but I do not want to be paying for abilities and new items. That just doesn't feel right. Any idea what the scene for this is because they haven't said anything about this and I haven't seen any information about it either

Abbilites, perks, etc are aquired by using ingame awarded points that you recive when your character levels up, you can then pick abbilites and such with using said points. Weapons, atrachments, clothing, etc, are unlocked for each character by leveling up and doing challange mode.

SD said they will be making DLC's in the future, probably months after release.

Edit: P.S. the only thing you pay real world currencey for is the game itself, the future DLC's, if they are released, would cost money or might be free, but that is the developers call, most likley we have to pay for most of them. The price of the DLC's is again, up to the developers.

I believe they're called "Free to Pay" where basically it's micro transactions.

Hopefully Brink doesn't follow this route, But I'm open to buying more guns/maps :3

As i have said, you do NOT pay for anything in game, you only pay for the game ONE TIME, when you first purchase the game itself, as in the CD.

Brink will NOT make you pay for micro transactions, you buy the game , that is it, no monthly fees, no buying guns and cloths, etc.

DLC's might be released after the game is released, which would include maps, new archtypes, tattoes, etc. (This is a speculation and they have NOT said what wilk be in future DLC's, if any)

Tho they will not be giving out gun DLC's because that would unbalance the game and cause more trouble then it's worth.

Really if you think about it, Micro Transaction could be better.
Well think about it, You buy what you want, Only want 1 Pair of shoes for $1 instead of paying 10 for a whole bundle( Like most DLCs are) of other things you wouldn't want Save 9$ right there.
Now that wouldn't work for maps per say. But I guess when you water it down it's all Pros and Cons.

( I know this game won't do that though. I'm 95% sure, It' just isn't economical for companies )

You know Brink is also on ps3 and 360 right? And you unlock new clothing for your character as you level up. Im not paying even 50 cents just for some virtual shoes.
