There are many easy programs that you can hunt and peck on for the notes and make a rought draft of the tune. If you have had it in your head that long try thinking about the next note and finding it on the keys, then put it all together.

The PC will show you what note it is, you do not have to know how to write music per say. Might help... might even start something you find you really enjoy.

Your tune does sound like the tune of the Muse song, but if its been in your head for 7 years, I don't think its the Muse song. as that was released in 2006

The first part of your tune does sound similar to the melody in that Muse song. I think the second part of your tune sounds like one of the parts to the Tetris theme.

You probably just made it up. Being a musician I've made up melodies that I could've sworn I've heard somewhere, but could never find out where. That's just how we create, we take influences from everywhere and mash them together into something that sounds familiar but isn't actually a replica of anything.

Only thing I hear in the muse song that is similar is that they mumble all the lyrics.

It could be the theme song from Beverly Hills Cop... But most likely its a mishmash of melody you developed in your heard from various tunes you have heard over the years. Thats how music is born.

It does sound a lot like the opening to a Saterday morning cartoon I use to watch ... OMG.. now its going to be stuck in my head~!! DIABOLICAL!
