interesting observation

i was thinking about elderscrolls lore and god knows what else and thought it was quite interesting that the the tribunals and dagoth urs skin tones are dunmer chimer and half and half which became a bit more interesting when on further thought there skin color somewhat goes with there personality. almalexia(sp?) gold= good or holy (until she went insane that is) dagoth ur grey= evil while vivec is half and half like yin and yang or neuteral (maby something to do with CHIM?) just thought it was interesting.

than i thought perhaps there might be an explanation for this in the lore (i doubt it but still would be interesting)

what are your thoughts?

Dagoth Ur isn't a member of the Tribunal, but. And I can't remember what colour Sotha Sil was. :P

Sotha Sil was coloured as every other dunmer. He chose to keep the curse.
He also comforted the other dunmer and calmed them down about the whoe affair.

That is correct, and Dagoth Ur is in fact the enemy of the Tribunal, seen as a sort of "devil" figure by their worshipers (in fact, some of them literally call him the devil.) so I think it's safe to say that the skin color of the Tribunal has nothing to do with morality, though Vivec's half and half skin color probably does represent his morality.

i knew that dagoth ur wasnt part of the tribunal (now that i look back on that i should probably retype that and stop trying to express myself at three in the morning) but i included him in my idea since i am pretty sure he was made immortal at the same time as the other three were. but than again i could have just imagined reading that.

i guess almalexias golden skin could more represent her vanity while vivec his alignment.

didnt know that about sotha sil infact i dont know much about him i am going to have to read up on him

Much in the same way the Christian Devil can be argued as a part of the Christian Trinity (which would be a four-piece with him) so it can be argued that Dagoth Ur is as much a part of the tribunal as the others. Without him being cast as the enemy, the three would not have been gods.

They were gods for quite some time before Dagoth Ur started causing a ruckus. Before him, Mehrunes Dagon, Molag Bal, Sheogorath, and Malacath were most likely pitched as the primary bad guys.

Alignment doesn't have much to do with it.

Sotha Sil stayed blue because he didn't have a problem with it.
Vivec, not being able to follow extremes, made himself half-and-half.
Barmy Almy turned gold because she was just a vain b?tch.

It's as simple as that.

Dagoth Ur is probably just grey from the ash, since he was still dead when most Chimer were turned.
