Smooter EGT - tell me where to put it

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 11:29 pm

Hi, all.
Browsing the Nexus came across Latamer Race v3 and saw a file suitable for improving vanilla faces called Smooter EGT it contains a file named headhuman.egt which I guess is a mesh.
Is the right path for installing this file as this:
Data/Meshes/Characters/Head or I am wrong (in which case please kindly tell the blunt blade where to shove it :D)

Here follows the full Readme:

This one will work for vanilla heads.

Obviously it needs someone sharper than good ole blade...

If you want to us for other races then It name of it has to match whatever race you want to use it under..

aka meshes\characters\imperial\

headhuman.egt

characters\khajiit\

headkhajiit.egt

Cheers, guys.
I told you it takes more brains than I am ready to show :D

Thing is, all I have installed ATM is Vanilla+SI as am waiting tomorrow phone guided reinstall (the git who replaced my 1GB GTX 240 with my new 1,8 GTX 260) didn't bother to properly manage the drivers, as a result only way to use my rig till full reinstall tomorrow is Safe mode with network. And there is no way to remember all them paths...

Thanks.

Did that. Using safemod with networking. Did chkdsk. Did Startup with Repair. Windows just doesn't lodad.
It is a 15 days old PC with 3 days old video card and I would prefer to reinstall the OS rather than suffer leftovers of a buggered one.

Psymon, it is ready to install as BAIN package and within few days will be able to see it. And take a screenshot.
ATM am fixing new card and pc. :brokencomputer:

Well, for future reference, here's my advice (take or leave, obviously!) if you ever find yourself needing to install or upgrade graphics card drivers again (which is not unlikely, actually) :

* Grab the latest copy of the (in your case) Nvidia drivers, for the correct OS (inc. 32- or 64-bit in particular)

* Also grab the latest version of http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/, which is free, no strings attached, and safe. Install this now.

* Uninstall whatever Nvidia graphics drivers (inc. PhysX) are officially installed, using Control Panel for instance, without restarting until they are all done, if more than one thing of this kind is present.

* Restart, and go into Safe Mode (using F8 then selecting it, typically)

* Run Driver Sweeper, and check *only* all nVidia graphics and PhysX things, then click "Run" or "OK" or whatever it is. ***

* Restart, and *don't* go into safe mode. Ignore / cancel any OS-prompted stuff about new hardware or whatever.

* Install those latest Nvidia drivers.

* Restart once more, again *not* in safe mode. Should all be working 100% now.

Done! :)

edit: *** In some people's cases, also check everything ATI (e.g., when switching from ATI to Nvidia) - same goes in reverse, naturally.

Already plan to install it myself - good find because there is one that can go with Throttlekitty head meshes, which I use too.

Need to at some point get on top of repackaging my cosmetics compilation.
