I need help! i'v installed daggerfall on my pc exactly the ay i should and I have had problems before where the game would'nt even execute, now i finally get to start it (all i had to do was install huge file) I get as far asthe emporor talking about stuff and just before the screen loads it goes black and does no thing...

I need help. This is the thirdd time iv'e diwnloaded this game due to problems ive had, and i'm still haing them! every time I download this game and install PROPERLY, no matter what i do, I still get problems with this game. Nowi do understand that this game is known for all the bugs it contains (nicknamed buggerfall, or something...) but that shouldn't really be the case because I don't even get so far as to even start a new character. first problem i've had with this game, was that whenever i tried to execute the game all i got was a black screen, then i got far enough to create my character stats, and watch the beginning cinematics, but once they finnished i got another black screen, then with this one i installed every time i start this game it keeps reporting an error and asks me to reboot or continue, if i choose to continue, it drops to my dos screen, if i choose to reboot, it quits, i reboot my pc and try again , and i still get a request to reboot. WHAT THE HELL ISS WRONG!!?? trying to get this to work properly is really pissing me off!!! i mean, has any other ppl gone through this much trouble to play their game of daggerfall? I doubt it, but if there are, plz feel free to tell me about them. so... could anyone give me any information that could help me even the slightest bit? seriouosly, even if any of you think it won't even help me, just tell me anyways, 'cauze it might. thankyou.

For additional information, you may need to help me, every time i reinstalled i just downloaded another installer.

I'm not that great with tech issues, but I've always been able to get things running after reading a guide and searching a bit. Which install guide are you following? There are a few. Try a different one. More information on what you're using to run the game would probably be helpful to those who can help.

I'm no expert,

I obviously presume that:
You are using Dosbox 0.73
You installed the DAG213 patch. (just checking)

One thing I thought about, have you tried changing it from full screen to windowed mode, by pressing alt + enter

Yes, it's helpful to us to know which guide you used and what sort of computer you're using. Which version of Windows shouldn't normally matter too much unless you try and run the game without DOSbox.

Well I install it from the actual CD, which I find it much easier to do. I follow the stickied post up at the very top. Im not too sure what to tell you. I use Windows XP, and it works fine. I dont know about Windows 2000. I dont see why it wouldnt work though if you followed the exact steps of getting it to work?
