i cant think of a way for it to not be pointless, you get your xp when you do you job, it would just be awarding a random number at the end of the round for no reason.

The reason would be that you stuck with the game to the end. Granted, players should not need reward for that, but it does act as a good incentive for people not to quit.
I don't think so, you get XP for so many things like getting hits, killing, reviving, doing objectives, etc. etc., so I don't think they'll give you MOAR for just going through the round.
They posted on the Splash Forums somewhere that everyone who stays the entire game gets an experience bonus, with the winners getting a slightly larger bonus. No individual XP bonuses though, so the winners might get 150 xp while the losers get 100 xp. If I find the thread, I'll post a link here.
