starting Daggerfall 2 questions

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 6:24 pm

So i have daggerfall installed, my first file was an assassin, for some reason assassins in the game cant fight for [censored] because it took me 2 hours to get out of the first dungeon because i kept dying, after a while of going into the wilderness and dying every 2 seconds i decided to try another class. So now im a warrior, the first dungeon is MUCh easier and i can actually kill things, but when i was picking my stats i noticed that "Pickpocketing" wasnt one of my skills, i love pickpocketing, is there a way i can get that up even as a warrior or do i have to start a new account and deal with dying every 2 seconds

second question: i have no volume, its not that much of a problem for me but id like to hear the sound, im running it on DOSbox on my Macbook, any suggestions?

thanks!

I suppose you could make a custom class...

EDIT: In other words, yes, you'd have to start a new profile

You want to be a mix of fighter and thief choose a rogue or a nightblade for the magic bonus. Or create a custom character and pickup the skills you prefer. If you want to kill stuff easily increase your agility and strength and choose a common weapon skill for your primary. In the advantages choose expertise with that weapon. It should raise very fast. Also add pickpocket and lockpicking to your primary skills to make it increase faster.

You don't need to cheat in order to increase lockpicking or pickpockets but it's better to pursue thieving activities in other kingdoms besides Daggerfall, Wayrest and Sentinel. You need a good reputation with the law in those kingdoms for the main quest to advance.

It's better to try to rob an house (at night if possible) or pick someone pockets in towns without city walls and when you are finished doing a quest in that city and are leaving. If you don't get arrested or surprised by a guard when they make that question to surrender i believe your reputation won't be affected. Just get away of town fast before they come close.

IMO Daggerfall has the best thieving model and rules of all TES games.

PS: Anyone knows if pickpockets is used for robing merchants when you are browsing their goods?

thanks, i made a custom class, called it "Ninja" i have insane longblade skills (because i pretty much stick to swords, dont use axes or any of that stuff) and good stealth and pickpocket skills. I got out of the first dungeon with ease, according to a walkthrough im supposed to go to the city of daggerfall, where is that? i dont see it on the travel map

In the world map there's a button called search or something like that. Click that button and write the word Daggerfall in dialog box.
