[What If] PGE and artbook reprint...

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:09 am

Here's a little what if:

What if Bethesda reprinted the Pocket Guide to the Empire, maps, and/or the concept art books for the TES games: Would you buy them?

----------------------

I'll vote a little later, but my answer is a resounding YES. I didn't get the Collector's edition of Morrowind, but I did pay for the game. I'd be happy to pay for the extra content - PGE and artbook - too. As for TESIV, I bought OB, SI, and the KotN expansions individually: I'm not going to pay for the game again just to get the latest PGE. However, I would be happy to pay the cost of just the PGE.

YES.

God, currently trying to track down a copy of Morrowind Collector's edition for its art book (and Ordinator figurine) and kicking myself for not buying the one used copy that was on Amazon recently and is now gone. Though I'd still try to track down the CE for the sake of completion, I would instantly shell out money for any reproduction of ES mediums. The artbooks especially, but maps as well (imagine if they sold a slightly-expensive-yet-still-worth-it map on some form of durable yet rugged looking cloth? WIN!). And of course, that extends to packaging any in-game written material into bound copies (with a lot more willingness to shell out money depending on the attention to artistic detail regarding the covers).

Bethesda pretty much has my wallet on a string. All they need to do is pull.

i'd definitely buy the original PGE and/or Morrowind's art book. Oblivion's goodies were fantastic, the more the better.

Yes I would. Well, on second thought, it would depend on the pricing. If it was reasonable, maybe around $20 (?), then yes I would.
Besides I don't even have Reguard's PGE, so it'd be worth it just to get that and any other art book or whatnot I've missed out on.

I already have the 3rd PGE, but I would certainly buy the first, just to have it and read it on the bus (can't do that with the online version, after all). Also, someone mentioned in the other thread a PGE may be neccessary for TESV, and I think this is close enough to the right place to say that if they made a CE of that like Oblivion's I'd likely buy it over the regular just for that.

Heck yes! I'd love to get my hands on the old artbooks I never got a chance at, as well as that Ordinator figurine I've heard about. And the Pocket Guide -or guides, mayhap they could sell a set with all of them?- would be a nice, handy lore source to have around. It'd be a good way to make some extra green for Beth and it'd be a way to stave off the gnawing hunger whilst waiting for the new game for us fans. Win-win, I say.

Some of the goodies produced for the Special Edition of Arena and preordered copies of Daggerfall sounded particularly interesting - Tamriel mousepads, letter openers, et cetera. I'd love to see the 1st PGE reprinted as well. Bethesda should re-manufacture a bunch of their old goodies for a limited time, I think both the fans and the company would benefit from the profits.
