Is this an FCOM friendly load order?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:26 am

Hey there.....

Ok... I need to take a breather because this has been KILLING me for the last three days... I have finally downloaded ALL of the parts required to install FCOM... yes it took 3 days because PlusNet cut my download speed down to 20Kbps due to my excessive downloading (Everyone stare at PlusNet :stare:) I've only just realized that authough my load order is simple it may not be friendly.... so, here it is:

Don't blame me for the order because BOSS did it all for me...

Active Mod Files:00 Oblivion.esm01 CM Partners.esm02 Unofficial Oblivion Patch.esp03 DLCShiveringIsles.esp04 Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch.esp05 DLCHorseArmor.esp06 DLCHorseArmor - Unofficial Patch.esp [Version 01]07 DLCOrrery.esp08 DLCOrrery - Unofficial Patch.esp [Version 01]09 DLCVileLair.esp0A DLCVileLair - Unofficial Patch.esp [Version 01]0B DLCMehrunesRazor.esp0C DLCMehrunesRazor - Unofficial Patch.esp [Version 01]0D DLCSpellTomes.esp0E DLCSpellTomes - Unofficial Patch.esp [Version 01]0F DLCThievesDen.esp10 DLCThievesDen - Unofficial Patch.esp [Version 01]11 DLCBattlehornCastle.esp12 DLCBattlehornCastle - Unofficial Patch.esp [Version 01]13 DLCFrostcrag.esp14 DLCFrostcrag - Unofficial Patch.esp [Version 01]15 Knights.esp16 Knights - Unofficial Patch.esp [Version 01]17 CM Partners.esp18 CM Partners Special NPCs.esp19 CM Partners NPC.esp1A CM Partners More NPCs.esp1B CM Partners Extra NPCs.esp1C Bashed Patch, 0.esp

Right... I am also using QTP3 but I might just do a clean install if people tell me to.

Thanks,

Spec Kay

EDIT - I voted PlusNet :brokencomputer:

There is no need for a vote. Those mods are fine to run with FCOM. For the greatest stability, you should not activate all of your plugins all at once.

Finishing the Installation - http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/finishinstall <-- See this after you have installed FCOM
First Run Guide - http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/runoblivion/firstrun <-- See this after your load order is settled.

Thanks, I know how to install it already because I got the FCOM cheat sheet from Dev_akm's website. Just wanted to check if it is okay to run my current mods with FCOM. However, I have never had any instability from activating all of my mods at once.

Thanks,

Spec Kay

I suggest that for more stability. Certainly, activating all at once is not guaranteed to break anything. If you look at the source of that First Run Guide, Blade of Mercy's guide, you will see input from a few well-known users. It is worth the time investment.

Blade of Mercy's 50 Steps Guide - http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1079933-50-steps-to-ctd-almost-free-fcom-game/

Regardless, remember to check the opening post of the FCOM thread for updates. That guide on Dev_Akm's site is more than a few months outdated, and there have been a number of major updates since then.

If you mean http://sites.google.com/site/fivefries/fcominstallationguide, it's not an official guide (i.e. not on dev_akm's site) and, more importantly, it has not been updated for almost two years. So check the FCOM release thread for the latest releases etc. as Tomlong said.

Also, I thought that the OP was referring to the http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html that is based on that older guide. If you followed the instructions on the older guide, I recommend you just follow the instructions on the first post of the FCOM thread, from top to bottom.

Wait.... You mean I've spent 3 days (Thank you PlusNet...) downloading outdated files for a mod that is radically more advanced than the version I've got? :shocking:

I'm afraid so.
The http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1093088-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom-relz/ will lead you through the required installation steps.
Because of the new MMM resource files it's now important in which order certain mods are installed.

I think I am going to die..... :nuke:

In all seriousness now... PlusNet I hope you're listening.... Is there anything wrong with the version in Tomlong's last post? The one based on the FiveFries guide. Because thanks to PlusNet  I am capped at 20Kbps until the end of the month.

Thanks,

Spec Kay

Download the latest MMM and UFCOM (links in the FCOM thread). You have the correct versions of OOO, WarCry and Fran's. Not sure which other mods you downloaded via the page.

...As I said last post, that's the guide I was referring to with the "more than a few months outdated" comment, haha... Downloading large outdated mods is a pain (especially when they are updated only a few days after you download them.) It happens...

Great! Thanks you guys, you've been great... PlusNet? Not so great but he'll get over it.

Thanks, this can be closed now.

Yeah, I forgot that the FCOM Homepage incorporates an updated version of FiveFries guide - but both are outdated so the result is the same. :(

The guide is still a good reference, but you will see it linked in the FCOM thread's opening post.
