Yellow Star with WTF

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:19 am

Before I get barked at by the impatient ones, I DID do a search and didn't get what I was looking for. I recently installed Oblivion GOTY and the mods I use on my new computer. I took a screen shot of my mod load order on OBMM prior to the new install so that I would replicate what I had on my old machine. I dont use tons of mods, 25-30 or so counting the DLC that comes with GOTY. Now I have started playing and I keep running accross these big yellow stars with "WTF! I am a missing mesh!". Can I get some help with this? (Moderator, if this is in the wrong forum, please move it)

I thought it should go here. Don't know why I didn't put it here in the first place. Thank You Mr. Moderator

Hehe, you're missing a mesh, pretty obvious ;)

You'll need to http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/troubleshooting/postlo to get more specific details...but fiiiiirrrrst:

1.) http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/troubleshooting/cps/yellow-wtf-meshes
2.) Download http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16704 to find what specific mod is looking for that pesky mesh. Should give you a good idea where to start anyway.

I really would recommend at least http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/index with the basic sections of Tomlong's site, as she has compiled an excellent array of information into this easy to read (yes, hun, it's pretty damn good :)) site.

EDIT: Pesky url tags :shakefist:

That did it. Thanks. FYI - It was a bad install of the Harvest Flora mod.

What do I do if it says Model not found?

I'm playing the main mission and Martin Septim has a big star on him. When i used form ID it says
Model not found at: Meshes\Weapons\Iron\Dagger.NIF
I go into my files and can't find it. What do I do.

This is random... FormID Finder tells you which mod owns the NIF. In this case, however, that file belongs to Oblivion.esm... Did you read FormID Finder's Read Me?

This would all be much easier if you just made a thread in this forum, the Mods forum, called "Trying to Setup Modded Oblivion" (or something that describes what you are doing) and post all of your questions there. This is the fourth thread or so that I have replied to your posts in. We should be able to find your load order and your problems in the same thread. It will reduce redundancy and frustration. Please, do that.

true I'm learning. Most message boards I visit like it if you have a separate thread for each problem or what ever. I guess it makes more sense to have one thread for a place like this.
