Will there be a big capital city?

I don't think the one in the screen we have seen is as big, the others on the map compared do give the feeling they will be atleast as big. But those shapes may not reflect the city as much as it influence.

The one in the screen we have is huge. You can only see a portion of it and it is incredibly deep if you look in the background and incredibly expansive if you look across and see the waterfalls in the distance with innumerable doors that could spawn large networks underground. That said, we don't even know how much of that city we have seen, we do know however that we can see rooftops in the bottom left corner so it could be imagined that there is ever more space.

I thought it was confirmed that the cities were going to be huge.

Besides.

Forget the capital city.

Distribute the coolness amongst all the cities.

Imperial City? ha! More like an amusemant park. Disneyland is bigger. I wish Bethesda would make more realistically-sized cities.

If that is the case, with out being rude I don't know how you can say what's out side the shot, the other will be truly massive if you look at the dive differences on the map markarth is the smallest. And I don't see that happening. They have probably just increased the scope of citys and added attached areas for industry and trade like mining woodcutting fishing ect.

Anyway...
Never gonna happend with 41 square kilometers.
Never. Ever. Ever. Ever.
Same with great, majestic mountains and valleys. Never happening either.

As long as, unlike Vivec, there will not be these fellows called Ordinators who hate me for the rest of the game for inadvertently wearing some mismatched pauldron of their fallen comrades' armor, a big capital city will be awesome, even if one seems unintuitive in a province whose counties and towns, not cities are noted in lore for their relative significance.

And I'm pretty sure that Vivec was just the largest city and regional hub of Vvardenfell, and that Mournhold, "city of light, city of magic" as the guards incessantly said was not only the seat of the monarch, but the capital of Morrowind.

That would be correct, Mournhold was the capital of Morrowind, not Vivec.

The cities seem to be slightly bigger than Oblivion's cities.

Heh, yeah.
I remember laughing out loud when I watched the opening cutscene to Oblivion. As the camera is flying around the Imperial City, there's a Legion Guard that you see just before the camera zooms into the prison. Well, anyway, he was about 3/4 as tall as the walls of the city and barely fit on the street he was patrolling. It was ridiculous.
