Combining Plug-ins

The CS is absolutely useless when it comes to merging dialogue by using the "combine loaded plug-ins" function. I've tried it several ways, and it either loses about 90% of the dialogue in the process, or sticks it in the wrong order, or adds just the new entries and removes ALL of the old ones, or adds some of it but removes ALL the other dialogue, including all the original Morrowind dialogue. This is beginning to make me very angry.

I have two .esps. One has some new dialogue that I want to merge with the older file, but it needs to be filtered in the correct order. It needs to be inserted between entries in the older version of the mod.

So how the heck can I do this? The CS can't seem to do it without !#%&?#%^*% up the whole bloody thing.

It won't import properly using the import dialogue feature either. ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!

Sigh...I finally managed to do it properly using TESAME. What a pain, having to click on each dialogue individually before I could make it into an .esd file and import it directly into the main mod.

So, anyone know why the CS svcks so badly at doing this properly?

Probably because the designers were just using it to smack new dialogue on top of old dialogue, and it worked fine for that? I don't know. There's lots of iffy things about the CS.

Yeah, it's really a pain when you want to add new stuff, but it's filtered against old stuff. I've been making all my new content in modules lately, because I want to test the new features fully before adding them to the main mod. I guess I'll be merging mods in TESAME from now on.

Does anyone know if there's any danger renaming an .esp file .esd and inserting it into another mod using TESAME? Because it's honestly easier to clean out the stuff I don't want than select everything else and hit export.
