Press the button to start sprinting.

While you hold it down, you're in SMART mode.

In this mode, when you run at an obstacle, you'll automatically climb/vault/mantle over it instead of getting stuck.

If you're Heavy, you can only SMART over waist-high objects, Mediums can quickly climb eye-level barriers, and Lights can wallclimb things up to a storey tall (and can use wallhops to get at places higher than that using manual controls).

So players can focus on the shooting aspect of the game. But you don't have to use it you can learn to be a master. That's basicly you don't you the sprint, jump, etc. they give you series of things u have to press. That is why they have the S.M.A.R.T. (Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain) button.

Wow, thanks obliviondoll, you understand more than I. I could not for the life of me figure is he was asking about controls or if he wanted to know what SMART was.

I'm not entirely sure I'm answering the OP's intended question, but that seemed like the most logical guess about the meaning, so I figured, worst-case, I've covered most of the bases the first reply ("fully mappable controls") didn't answer.

I'm pretty sure the devs said that it was on a shoulder button, but again, this is irrelevant because the controls for all versions are completely mappable. On top of that, they actually imported control schemes of some popular games, which they don't recommend you use, but it's an option.

Sprint is L2 on PS3. Yeah, its a bit confusing when going from system to system. But, something to remember is that the controls on PS3 for shooters are identical to that of 360, except the triggers are switched. So to shoot on 360 is RT, and on PS3 it is R1 (the top of the two buttons). :)

They just posted another vid about SMART on there Facebook http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150575406445578&oid=94712919842&comments.

Its also on their mainpage http://brinkthegame.com/ as of current, and in their video archive http://brinkthegame.com/media/videos/, obviously though if a new video comes out though you'll have to search around their vodeos for it, it's called "Get SMART Series: The Basics".

Why are you mapping it there?

Why?

Because I won't do it to my own PSN account... I'll do it to the guest account I have for drunken friends to play on...

And if the game won't let me go quite that far, I'll find a way to make the controls as throughly unfriendly to the player as possible.

Maybe R3 for ADS, right stick to aim, and triangle (equivalent to Y on XBox) to shoot. That should be possible.
