Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:08 am

I found this game called Deus Ex: Human Revolution, it's a sequel to the past Deus Ex games.
This one is looking really good. It's like Splinter Cell to where you can be stealthy, except this game being stealthy is merely an option and the close combat is much more brutal.

http://www.viddler.com/explore/sceablog/videos/1712/ I have some gameplay footage and to me I'm getting really excited for this game. This will give me something to enjoy until The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim releases. Plus it releases a day before my birthday ;) Release date: August 23, 2011
If even more interested, http://www.deusix.com/.

Is it finally coming out? Hasn't it been in production since Caeser was in diapers? Maybe I'm thinking of another Deus Ex game.

It looks terrible IMO. I'd rather just replay the original.

Have you ever actually played Deus Ex Kush? If not, do it right now :nono:

Truth. The first one was very good. The second one was ok. But you should definitely play the first one immediately.

Got my Augmented Edition pre-ordered. Really excited. Even if it's half as good as DX1, it'll be great.

Same here. I even paid down a little bit more after you showed me the new game play video

Invisible War is an atrocity at it's finest.

I concede the point. But it was better than no Deus Ex. Well maybe.

I think it might have been an ok game if there wasn't a true masterpiece before it, but still nothing too great.

Also, saying Deus Ex is like Splinter Cell is insulting. It's like saying birds are like airplanes, or horses are like cars.

Judging by the gameplay it looks quite similar.
Sorry, I am not familiar with the Deus Ex series. I have just recently found out about it.

Ya I did notice that pretty horrifying comparison. It's like people saying L.A. Noire reminds them of Mafia II

Yeah, I'm trying to say Human Revolution looks similar to Splinter Cell because they're both imitating the masterpiece that was the first Deus Ex game. If you want to get excited for Human Revolution, you should spend a few bucks on Deus Ex because if they do everything right, HR will be very similar to it.

Thank you, I definately will get my hands on it asap.
It's just from what I've seen, Human Revolution looks extremely badass.

Deus Ex is one of those games that came out and did something no other games had, and has been effectively duplicated approximately never. It's got a devoted fanbase and a lot of people watching Human Revolution very suspiciously, worried that it will end up being just another cover-based shooter or otherwise fail to live up to the original. It's one of those things people have fond memories of and do not like having it inaccurately compared to other things.

That vid makes it look like a stealth game with Borderlands style graphics. No thanks.
