Uh, yes, you can. People do it all the time.

If you insist to argue, then I'll argue that the sword will be a constant reminder of what happened. Purging the memory from his mind would be pretty impossible. If you really want him to go mad, don't worry, lack of human contact is enough to do that. Besides, if he convinces himself that he never killed an innocent imperial, he's less likely to go mad.

Just let it flow. Flow like the wind, man. :celebration:

Sorry I've been neglecting this thread, I've been having "Too tired to give that much thought" moments. Anyway, rolled a 2 out of 2 between Broken-Scale and Arcry.

Um....Examine the Strange Glowing Ring?

Vanas sighs, walking down the steps from the gate and sitting by a pillar at the foot. He opens his pack and takes out the glowing ring he retrieved from the vampire, and stares at it curiously. It appears to be gold, with a black gem that seems to reflect with purple and green. Vanas puts on the ring, and before he can realize, is unable to breath.

Vanas gasps for air as the ring slowly turns his lungs inside out, and forms slits in his neck. It gave him gills. Vanas, unable to bear it anymore, takes the ring off, feeling his chest re-inflate and the slits close. Vanas pants heavily, then pockets the ring. Why a King would need such a ring is beyond him, though maybe the answer lies within the chasm, or another water pit somewhere within the fort. Regardless, this will help with any situations with swimming.

Examine the engravings on the dagger (if that's important) then go investigate the open door, with his sword drawn and ready for trouble. Also, wonder whether he really should of killed Gustav (The Imperial. Remember, Vanas isn't crazy yet!), or if it was a poor decision.

Sorry for posting the same thing again. I really want this!

I wonder why you all sympathize more for the imperial, and not the altmer Vanas brutally murdered earlier in the story. He sounded more innocent, too. Ah well.

Vanas stands up, glancing over at the open door. Before Vanas attempts to head twards it, he pulls out the dagger he acquired from the Vampire. The engravings, upon closer examination, appear to be daedric lettering. Not having any sort of translation with him, he shrugs and puts it back in his pack. Vanas then draws his sword, and carefully moves over to the open door.

Vanas enters through the doorway, and is immediately distracted by a familiar sight. A black figure moving across the room. Vanas, ready this time, rushes over and dives for it, grabbing it's leg, which felt oddly wet and cold. Immediately the figure turned, and the only thing being visible are it's glowing dark green eyes, glares angrily at Vanas. Suddenly, the figure screeches with the loudest, ear-splitting scream one has ever heard. It sounded similar to a Harpy being strangled and having it's legs slowly cut with it's own talons.

Vanas turns pale, and almost feels his hair become grey, as he lets go out of fear, and the figure darts forward and disappears in the darkness. Vanas, curled up in the fetal position on the floor of the dark room, shivers and whimpers in panic and fear.

((Sorry I left out the gustav part, he's not really in a good position to think about it. I'll add it in with the next suggestion.))

For me, it's cause I didn't get the chance to have a say in the killing of the Altmer.

He should follow the figure back into the water pit that he fell into earlier, use the water-breating ring, and jump in looking for the trinket at the bottom of the pool. The giant slaughter fish that was in there is probrably dead from starvation, but if not he should kill it and take its teeth and scales as loot.

Rolled a 1 out of 2

He should follow the figure back into the water pit that he fell into earlier, use the water-breating ring, and jump in looking for the trinket at the bottom of the pool. The giant slaughter fish that was in there is probrably dead from starvation, but if not he should kill it and take its teeth and scales as loot.

Vanas ran back to the first room after the chasm, and glared into the dark corridor. Swallowing his fear, he enters back into the chasm. It seemed darker than he remembered. Vanas quickly put on the ring, feeling his throat close up and lungs deflate. Closing his eyes, he lets go of the leash holding his scrib, and dives into the water, leaving his scrib on the ledge

Vanas immediately breathed in, feeling water rush through his neck. Vanas glared around the dark waters, only to be forcefully shoved forward by a large figure. Vanas groaned under the water, bubbles flowing out of his mouth, as he turns and looks at the figure. The slaughterfish, nearly the size of a silt strider, floating in the water.

Vanas, terrified, attempts to swim back to the ledge. But he isn't fast enough. Vanas instantly feels a sharp pain in his legs. The slaughterfish bit down onto his thighs. Yelling in pain (Or what would be considered yelling underwater), he attempts to stab the fish off him. But it's no use. The fish fights back, flinging him out of the water in his mouth in a tight grasp, water splashing and cracks heard as Vanas strikes the walls of the chasm. Gustav screeches in sorrow, only watching the horrid ordeal.

Vanas is pulled under yet again, and doesn't emerge. All that remains in the water is a pool of the adventurer's blood, giving the water a dark red tint as the chasm goes quiet, only the echo of voices from the halls resonating any sort of sound. Gustav lays on the ledge, glaring into the water, in hopes that his master would emerge victorious. The scrib waited for days, later dieing of starvation.

The cave was later found by the legion, and boarded up, bocked forever by order of Ocato. Nothing ever came back out, and nobody ever entered it.

((Vanas isn't a superhero, he can't kill everything. I might start another story if there is any interest, though this thread has been dieing a bit. Let me know if you guys want to continue with another story.))

I rolled out of two since Darth and Walrus had the same exact suggestion, which isn't really fair.

And yeah, the ending was abrupt, but death in general is pretty abrupt. You guys essentially told this guy to kill two innocents, attack a vampire, and run through a dungeon like he owns the place. His current tactics would've gotten him killed eventually, and being cocky and attempting to take on a giant slaughterfish is what ended his arrogance. Don't take this as a "I just wanted to end it" thing, I'll gladly start on another story in a better setting.

EDIT: Any mod is free to lock this thread, new one is up.
