LOD is Light of Dawn, a cool vampire-killing sword added by OOO, and that a lot of people use because it's stuck in your inventory :)

Edit: and it should be LoD, sorry about that

Hehe sorry, I tought Light of Dawn was known enough around the forums that anyone would understand :P I'll drop a mesage in the OOO thread tomorrow, if no one already did, because I'd like to test it a little bit before...

Also to Jensen: You can remove LoD from your Inventory, just use cobl function "move quest Items" or a similar mod! People mainly use LoD because she has nice damage, is ultra-fast, weights 0, is and chargeless (also add Cool looking!)... Moreover, you have to kill so many vampires to reach the final stage that you grow attached to the thing :D

Someone has posted already, thanks. I really do not spend enough time playing the game. I have had OOO in my load order for a couple years, and have probably faced less than 100 vampires in all of my time of playing, definitely if not counting those added by various quest mods.

No not new been around since Zombie Npc where added back in MMM 3.0 like 2 year's ago..

It doesn't even touch the Dread Zombies. It just adds a "zombie suit" to the NPC Zombies (the racial zombies which can't use the creature mesh/textures, like zombie orcs and Khajiit). It appears the purpose of it is to make the zombie texture work properly with body mods like Roberts and HGEC by giving them a full body suit that essentially removes the body mod and reinstates the original body shape.


That would be correct - need to add that info since it is more detailed than mine..

Huh...I guess I did not run into the zombies then...oh, right...I have not played MMM 3.7 yet...


Zombie Races where added way back in MMM 3.0 or perhaps before than even ..not a new feature, once again, just hard to find once again.

Thanks for the advice Divvu. Somehow I've always postponed digging into Cobl functions. I never even knew you could do that so easily. I can feel my inventory suddenly getting lighter...

Huh, I do not remember a texture incompatibility issue. Is that mod recommended for users with body replacers installed?

I hadn't realized it as well.

I removed Kyoma's Journal mod a while back while trying to debug some crashes and haven't been able to get rid of the book yet.

Though, come to think of it I haven't crashed (knock on wood) since modifying MD Saddlebags and starting to use Game Booster. Maybe I should try adding Pluggy back in?

Guys, I had a small talk with someone who used to live with me and played (let's say parasitized [sp?] :P) my install of oblivion for 4-5 months. He remembers tha crashing on LoD when fighting zombies on my setup many months ago (around October-December)... Since then I added very little, updated some mods and removed a couple of esps. The biggest change is Fearsome Magicka.

Still I trust this person quite a bit, and that would prove the existance of the CTD before the latest updates of WB or OBGE, wich I use. A grain of sand, maybe, but I prefer to post it here, someone could find this useful.

I agree with your friend. I have used LoD for quite some time, and through several versions of OOO, and the sword has always been somewhat problematic. That means occasional crashes did happen, for no apparent reason. But within the past several months the problem has become much worse--fighting more than two of any kind of enemy almost guarantees a CTD, every time. So it's my thinking that something external may be affecting the script in a bad way.

I am also experiencing crashes when Dread Zombies make an appearance.
Sometimes the game crashes when just fighting them with a sword, but the most crashes occur when i use a lightning magic staff.
I do not use the LoD.

Yep, same happened to me the other day. I was fighting with some Meteoric Sword which had a fire damage enchantment. Every time I killed certain Dread Zombie -> CTD.

I created a new character who is now level 27, and now he is also experiencing crashes. They always seem to happen when delivering the finishing blow with an enchanted weapon.
Is there anyone with an idea of why these crashes happen when fighting Dread Zombies?

Perhaps it is a conflict with shaders/spell effects. I personally have been killing dread zombies with (now improved) Light of Dawn, which used to be a double-whammy, without one CTD so far. I only use LAME, and no special screen/atmospheric effects other than AN Real Lights.

Like other people said; it seems to be one specific Dread Zombie who likes to cause crashes. I was in Memorial cave and saw 5 of the damn things. The game always seemed to crash when i killed the same zombie. The other four just went down perfectly.

I then downloaded the newest Bash rebuild the bashed patch and the problem seems to be solved.
