Well was on VG247 reading the newest article with the nice tutorial video and talking in the comments about K/D because some people where worried about it ruin the game because people wont want to work as a team when I said:

"I wouldn’t worry to much seeing as there is no leaderboards in Brink or a way to compare K/D so people who try and treat it like a TDM instead of objective based gameplay will get themselves nowhere."


when a guy claiming to be from bethesda responded saying this:

"Gstaff from Bethesda here… you can actually see the k/d ratio in game, as well as leaderboards."

Sooo I am a little confused from all the interviews and things I have seen the Devs said they will not be having leaderboards in specifically not one with K/D on it as that promotes people camping and lone wolf tactics which they do not want. They don't want people worrying about trying grab an objective because they are afraid to die. So is this guy legit and did I miss something or is he just blowing smoke?

It would be odd if this was true. In 9/10 videos there is at least 1 guy saying that there will be no k/d shown...

I know almost all the previews, interviews ect someone says something about them not wanting people to worry about K/D hence why they will not have leaderboards. I know they said you can compare your stats with people on your friendslist but never saw anything about leaderboards with K/D on them so a bit confused.

Correct but from what was said it would imply (atleast to me) that there will be K/D on stat board of each match as well as on some sort of global leadboard.

I have never seen a clear "NO" to leaderboards.

I know they have been valiant in saying they don't want to openly track K:D -- but does this exclude a leaderboard? No.

It could track total XP, objectives, who knows. Why do you just assume "leaderboard" = "OMG LOOK AT MY KILLS!!"?

"Leaderboard" USUALLY refers to a global stat-tracking leaderboard.

The end-game leaderboard having K/D tracking, or just showing Kills and Deaths, wouldn't be quite so much of an encouragement for players to boost that, because it's not a tracked stat.

I've seen plenty of leader boards that track more than purely kills and deaths..

I won't argue that K:D tracking is the most used, but it's not at all the "only" thing leader boards can, or do, track.

That wasn't what I was getting at, but agreed.

I was making a separate point that leaderboards could mean just the mid-match and post-match screens, not long-term stat tracking.

Sorry guys, I got some bad intel on this... it's just XP that you see. You don't see the kill/death ratio. You will see an end-of-round award for "most kills
