I work for a gun company and we are thinking of offering a "simplified" ( that is to say the outside is slightly smaller such as 1% but their are no guts) model of our guns for use in games. As in you contact us/ download the model we offer for free, you are aloud to mod the color, "magazines/clips" and accessories. The specifications and variations are included in a PDF for the developer to do with what they wont. With one stipulation the model must still contain the logo of the gun and the name and manufacturer in the selection of the gun. we would only ask that if you made money from it we would at that point have a license agreement for a percentage of the profit. I just wanted to know what every one thought.
Mods are offered free and it is illegal to make a profit from them.
I don't know how that would apply to a logo requirement (basically advertising).
I see how making money from them would make sense. I was thinking about how Flight Sim add on's make money but don't get me wrong we are not really looking in that direction. we just want the logo on the side of the gun and when you select it in you inventory it says our name and model.
