Is using Progress with Wrye Leveling unnecessary? Thanks.

I don't see how they could possibly be compatible. They both address the leveling scheme in entirely different ways.

Progress allows you to configure skill advancement rates, the number of skills needed to increase per level and training per level.
Wrye Leveling makes you buy your skill increases and level.
Think about it..... B)

Wrye leveling stops all progress for skills. It is all based on purchasing the next levela and then applying however many points for skills and attributes you have configured. I use it, gives me motivation to quest and make money. I have my leveling cost set really high though (500 gold per level, crazy I know).

Err... actually, Progress can be set to exactly reproduce Wrye Leveling. Just set all the advancement rates to zero, and copy in Wrye's settings for training cost, sessions per level, and skill increases per level advancement.

Someone tell me what those settings are? I can include a pre-configured "Progress (Wrye).ini" next version.

Edit: ProgressGSD would work pretty well with that, too. Low levels would be cheap, high ones expensive, rather than all the same cost.

Edit 2: I just realized Shikishima was also suggesting this. Too subtle, man. ;)

In Wrye Leveling, levels are not the same cost. The formula is base + level x cost per level. With a base of 100 gold, and level cost of 500 gold, to get from level 9 to level 10 would cost 5,100 gold.
To get from level 1 to level 10 would cost 900 + 27000 (or something close).

Ahh... better than flat cost, anyway. ProgressGSD can either do a linear increase like that, or along a curve, but it's based on your total skills (i.e., including minors) rather than your level. Wouldn't quite be identical, but similar in concept. :)
