Really, Walmart?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:26 am

I went to down to my local Walmart to pre-order Brink for the Spec-Ops pack, and the guy said I can't pre-order and that the game doesn't release until summer... I don't get it. I told him that Walmart.ca describes the Spec-Ops pack and everything, but he refused to allow me to pre-order.

There was a Canada Walmart thread a while back where people were saying that Walmart Canada don't do in-store pre-orders.

But if you go there on day 1, they're (supposedly) going to have the Spec Ops code in the game box.

I'm pretty sure you can pre-order online anyway.

I've learned that you shouldn't try to do in-store preorders at Walmart. The guy will never know what you're talking about, or won't know what he's talking about. Try doing it online.

Oh, really? Well in that case I guess it's fine; still don't understand why they won't allow me to pre-order... And also why he told me it releases in the summer.

I'm working off of hearsay from another thread on this topic.

As for the game not coming until summer, that's confirmation that their staff don't deserve their jobs.

Certain things you don't need to pre-order kinda like when I picked Demon Souls off the shelf it turned out to be the Black Phantom edition.

Wallmart = fail?

Thats why I always order form proper game shops, non specialist retailers always seem a bit dim when it comes to games.

Tell me about it, I've been shopping there since I moved in town and I've been led to believe they'll hire just about anyone. You'd be surprised at how rude and unwilling to help Wal-mart employees are; especially at my branch. Employees should be told this information, or at least have a [censored] sheet beside that lists information on upcoming releases, so that they can inform customers. They lose business this way; since the customer will just say "Ah, screw it" and go to Gamestop.

I would, usually, but unfortunately the Spec-Ops bonus is only available at Wal-Mart and on Steam; and I play on Xbox.

Yes, this is true unfortunately. I visited the website and there seemed to be no option to pre-order or purchase.

All the codes are packed in the box, their called pack in codes.(who knew  ) I never pre order anything anymore, which worked in my favor with red dead and I have about ten sets of those playing cards. Bethesda and EA always use pack in codes with their games,no more picking up a scratch card from the mental case no nothing clerk who is more suited for food service being that their small brains can only handle pre determined tasks that require no customer service.

I'm hoping i get when I go pick up the game.

<-Walmart electronics employee

so technically all you are flaming right now.

No not all walmart employees are dim just they never require Electronics associates to study every single game to come out, i do but im a gamer

The codes for walmart stores ARE in the box if not the Associate has a lil card they give out, half the time they just don't cause they are lazy i am the only one that does at my store cause i know and understand the frustration of not getting it
