Beautification

Yeah, reinstalling OB since even with a top-of-the-line (As of two years ago) computer, it can't efficiently handle the madness I placed on it (RAEVWD, + QTP3R, Better Cities and Unique Landscapes). So I'm looking for alternatives, since I've been absent from the modding scene for a while, I decided to ask you all. Whats a still pretty, but better running version of QTP3R? I remember finding this one that made them look realistic and nice, but I don't remember what it was now. It wasn't fully released then, either, only a few parts were. Also, because I forget, what is the lowest-tech version of RAEVWD? And are there any ways to make my Distant Land look good without frying my comp? I'm still going to use Better Cities and Unique Landscapes, but if anyone else has some recommendations as to things that make the game more pretty/less ugly, please do tell me. For some reason i'm not having much luck finding them myself.

I'd recommend these:

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18677
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10419 There is only download options via mirror

Or if you still want QTP3, try this:

These have little performance hit, and look amazing IMO.

Fully aware of TOTO, but it was last updated over a year ago. I'm interested in the more recent texture packs.

Also, I like the look of the Vibrant Textures thing.

  • RAEVWD is configurable to lessen its performance impact. The readme is pretty clear and helpful in this regard.
  • Better Cities might be the culprit in your performance hit, though. If you post your rig, you might get more specific advice. It also has some FPS optimizer options. Check the readme.
  • Vibrant textures will have much less of a VRAM penalty than QTP3R, and I like them. More colorful.
  • A few places in the UL mods will have more of a performance hit than others. Check the current thread for more info or to ask specific questions.

Your performance issues really depend on whether it's your CPU or your video card that's your bottleneck.

Personally, I think its QTP3R combined with RAEVWD. I've never had a problem with just UL, RAEVWD, and Better Cities. Im going to try out Vibrant Textures...

I shouldn't actually need to do a full re-install in this case, then, because if I just use the newer textures to overwrite QTP3R (Great mod, btw, but I think its slightly killing my game) I shouldn't have any problems. I'll post my specs when I get them in a bit.
