Mod Help Pls

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 7:24 pm

I did a search for 'hollow' and 'invisible' eyes, but it yeilded no results, so I'm asking very kindly here for some help!

I want to use this mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5097

It is not working, here is problem I am having: http://i982.photobucket.com/albums/ae304/leigh_80/ScreenShot5556.jpg
(in case you can't see it very clearly, there are no eye sockets at all)

I have OBMM, the latest OB patch (with SI), latest vid card drivers, everything because Capucine's Eye Expansion works just fine (and no, I don't have them both running at same time, just in case). I want to switch to Elaborate Eyes to see what selection is there. I've tried loading game with mod in different load orders - and still does not work. Anyone have any ideas to help?

Did you install Capucine's Eye Expansion with an OMOD by any chance?

I'd guess, and I'm not sure about this, that CEE uses a custom Eye mesh while the Elaborate Eyes one expects the normal mesh. So if you don't remove the resources from the first, but try to run the second, you get a mismatch.

Cap's eyes use the vanilla mesh. EE introduces the new mesh that adds all sorts of compatibility problems...

Ah...In that case, read my previous post backwards.

Still looks like a resource mismatch at any rate.

Thanks much for the replies! Ah, ok then EE uses a different eye mesh - got it. Tho, I did install EE afterwards so shouldn't it have overwritten the orginal? *shrugs*

Yes, but if you have a mod installed that need the vanilla eye mesh that still creates problem. The problem with EE is that mods that add their own eyes that use the vanilla mesh all need patches for compatibility. Those mods are largely quest mods, and some new race mods. Keep that in mind. I prefer Cap's eyes anyway, personally...

OK. Thank you for clarifying! You wouldn't happen to know if there was a patch for compatibility out there, by chance? If not that's fine too, I can stick with CC!

There is not a compatibility patch that will make Oblivion use multiple eye meshes for the same race. Stick with Cap's mod. Alternatively, (as I did not use the stand-alone Cap's eyes mod) you can use the Cosmetic Compilation, which includes Cap's Eyes, some more eyes, Ren's mod, etc. COBL Races and the Race Balancing Project also include Cap's eyes. Well...RBP does, and as COBL races is a stripped down version, I assume it does too...
