That's completely different.
The beta is/was there for testing purposes, while a demo is for marketing purposes.

It was a BETA.
They tried to debug the ps3 version of brink(maybe it was instable??)
A beta is for debugging, a demo is for attracting people.

So why shouldn't they release a pc demo?

If there's a demo, t'll be on all platforms. Otherwise, what's the point? The beta was on PS3 because it's the least polished version, as you said.

Afaik, SplashDamage have developed exclusively for the PC until BRINK - a PC only demo would be just as reasonable.

And it's Bethesda published, who are also PC veterans.

I am bringing this back for any one new to this game and if we get a demo in 2 weeks then you can talk about what kind of demo you want to see. If this does not bring it back to the first page ill make a new one.

I just need a demo to make sure my computer can run it decently. Offline vrs bots with one map is sufficient. I already bought the game because I am within the min specs, but just barely; and only because it was 25% off through Direct to Drive. I hope I didn't get burned again like COD:BO.

I would like any demo, even if it only featured 1 map, medium only build and starting equipment.

Same here!

I think a Coop demo would make good sense. Being able to Play 1 or 2 maps with 3 other friends vs or with AI.
It give a good look of whats to come.

Hmm,i for one dont need a demo for this game.i know it is going be kick ass fun just like TF2 was before all these imba items and premium [censored] came in. ([censored] IT VALVE WHY?From one of the most balanced Team FPS ever to some unbalanced bullcrap -.-)

They should give a free weekend out a week or two after launch i bet they get MANY MANY more sells with it. <-If i would be the Developer i think i would do it like that.

Who'd still want a demo if you could only play as a heavy, and had no Heavy Weapons unlocked, only ARs and SMGs? (Just curious. I think it'd still be fun - not very informative though, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do this)

I'd love a demo/beta to iron out any last unseen kinks and to test if the P2P multiplayer works properly and is up to the task. But so as to not spoil the fun, abilities and customization restricted to basics.

Personally Id be perfectly happy with just a demo of the movement system.
Afterall the biggest diffrence from other games is exactly this, so would be nice if we got the chance to get used to it before release :P

Demo - Medium Build with Pre-Customized characters, 1 SMG, 1 Assault Rifle, 1 Sidearm, and 1 Shotgun. Only one map which would be Container City, multiplayer mode so we get a better understanding of how it is going to be, or a choice to play with bots.

It's 13 days away. You don't need a demo. If there was one, it would probably be playing Security only on Container city with no unlocks or rank up.

There has to be a demo. I NEED to know if I can run the game smoothly. If not, I have to resort to other sources for a "demo".
