I use a dummy folder in my FO3/ folder to extract mods into first, before putting them directly into the /data folder. That way I can easily check the paths first before merging the various folders in /data
The dummy in simply named '/AAA' so that it sits at the top :read:
Then, before placement, copy the entire /data folder and rename it /data_og (original game), or whatever so that when you screw it up the first few times -I certainly did at least :facepalm: , you can just delete the /data folder and replace it with the original /data again, saving you the trouble of relentlessly having to re-install the entire game. :banghead:
You just move the folder back in place
This is good when trying pour different combo's of mods and you're not sure yet how they'll play together. I had eight different /data folders at one time :ahhh: when I was trying to get a mod order running stable..
