[WIP] Connary's Texture Compendium

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:59 am

Connary, how did you get that depth effect on the bug musk? It looks sweet!

Mix of the base texture with a emboss layer of this texture. Evidently in the process there a dozen of new layers to improve the look but the base concept its the embossing (not bump maps).
The original texture of this botlle was a cactus.

Forgive me if I am simply missing something, but does any of this actually constitute "news" concerning the release of Connary's opus? I mean, assuming Connary determines to his satisfaction that he will be releasing the Compendium, does his removal of the older version(s) imply an impending release?

@ Connary: this being my third post on these forums I wouldn't dane speak for the community, but for me your work has gone beyond an exhibition or a tribute. It is, in my opinion, a cornerstone of this community; a model of its capability to reimagine a work of interactive entertainment as a work of electronic art. The early version texture packs have been like a private audience with Renoir as he painted the individual members of his Luncheon of the Boating Party. I hope to get a glance at the completed masterwork someday, and hopefully soon.

Thanks Lilliputian. Im receiving this days some nice support like yours. This will push me to do the things the better. The upload its not really imminent due a recent events that make me reconsider how to do things but its really near. The good news are that this time is not wasted at all since im adding more textures.

In this moment i am contacting personally with modders to get the pertinent permission to include some material into my mod. Bad times because some of they seems on vacation.

I don't know if you're sick of getting all this praise, but regardless, I'm going to shower you with a bit more- forgive me :)

I haven't played a serious game of Morrowind since I stumbled upon your texture compendium ([WIP] thread number 3, I believe :P) because I have now seen what the game is capable of looking like. Your work is stunning, simply unbelievable, and I do not think I will ever be able to play vanilla Morrowind again ;)

PS- this may not be the place for it, but I just wanted to mention that your cliff racer retexture is one of my favorites. Giving them actual plumes on their wings seems like a no-brainer considering their dropped item, but for whatever reason Bethesda never really quite grasped that ;)

Yeah, it does conclude many things: the new Morrowind will look superb - you did an excellent job in preserving its original character, while upgrading the visuals to the point it looks much better than vanilla Oblivion! :)

Cheers!

Did you make the faces?

On the topic of another thread, I think you should call it "Connary's Graphical Compendium" or something of the like. Seeing as your mod will probably be the newest "graphical overhaul" for "Morrowind", much like QTP or "Bomret's Texture Pack: Shivering Isles" for Oblivion.
