Ok so I bought a 1 pack windows 7 home x64 and installed it onto an 80 gb HDD. I was going to keep all of my base system files on just that small HDD and use another one (500 gb) for installing games, programs and whatnot, but in the end it is just too big of a pain in the ass. So I bought a 1TB HDD and I am wondering... How exactly do I make sure everything is transferred over correctly. Can I just use the same install disk? Can I use something like Paragon Hard Disk Manager? Help me pl0x.

Personally I backup everything I want to a pen or something and simply re instal it...

The fastest option is to image your current install to the new HDD. Various imaging tools exist.

For some, though, it is "simpler" to just start from scratch. Install Windows 7 on the new HDD and copy all your files over/reinstall all your applications. I don't understand how this can be considered simpler, but some do.

I think it's better to install to a small hard drive and have a 2nd or 3rd hard drive to install games and bigger things too. So if you ever need to reformat, you have a small drive to do it and don't worry about the other drives since everything will be there.

You can do that with partitioning. Unless you are putting Windows on an SSD, it's just more economical to partition a big drive than to have a small drive and a separate big drive.

Yeah I have Win7 on a 60GB partition on my HDD, so I can just wipe the partition when I format, rather than having to backup everything.
