Some guy i was playing a game with asked me if i knew about Skyrim coming out. He told me he read somewhere on the Bethesda site that they're turning it into an mmo game. I'm pretty sure this is just plain wrong, but still i'd like to know for sure .

Perhaps they might introduce the ability to let a friend or two join your world, but i highly doubt that (although it'd be pretty cool ).

Your friend is telling you info from rumours that were around a year or so ago. No MMO, definately.

There is however work being done on an MMO of some sort, and has something to do with Bethesda in some form, but thats all i know.

And no, Skyrim isn't a MMO or have any kind of multiplayer functionality. It's rumored that http://www.zenimaxonline.com/ is working on a TES MMO, though, but it's only that; a rumor.
