Command Posts

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:23 pm

I haven't really seen anything about this, but if an operative captures a command post, do upgrades transfer over?

Say the Security has a health command post. A Security engineer upgrades this command post so it gives 2 additional health pips instead of just one. Then a Resistance operative comes along and hacks this command post. Would the Resistance get the 2 additional health pips, or would it be reset and a Resistance engineer would have to come along to get the 2 health pip bonus?

I'm thinking it'll be reset whenever its hacked, but I I'd like it more if the upgrades carried over from side to side. Make command posts a more valuable asset to defend, as your team would lose two health pips while the other gains two, as well as a more attractive to attackers.

I'm hoping it resets, simply to give the Engineers on the other side the chance to help out, instead of one Engineer per command post. Would kinda svck if you took the CP buff skill but couldn't use it because the enemy Engineer already did it for you.

I'm very sure it resets.

I'm sure it does too. Just not 100% sure. Only like 99.9% sure.

That is a pretty good question..I haven't heard a thing about this but I assume it resets. But I guess we'll just find out on the 10th.

this would make the most sense... Feel like SD would of thought of this but haven't seen it in any interviews. Time will tell...

I also had this question and have yet to see a definitive answer from the developers, but it would make sense to remove the upgrades upon capture to encourage more teamplay from the Engineers.

I'd stake my money on this as well. There's no sense in buffing command posts if your team isn't going to be able to hold them and it ends up helping out your opponent instead. -_-

As I stated, I too believe these upgrades will reset with each hacking. I was just thinking it would make upgrading command posts more of a gamble and make it riskier to upgrade it, as you are increasing how valuable these are, enticing attackers.

I'm pretty sure it'll reset, too.

As for the CP boost increasing the value of capture, it will do that anyway - wouldn't you want to deny your enemies 2 free health/supplies pips? I know I will. That's twice as much health loss as only losing 1.
