Why?

the arrogance, the superiority complex, the forcing of ones culture upon the world, thinking they are God's gift to creation!! what's not to hate.

I'm sure they used "force" to make it, and surprise surprise it did not last.

the gift of peace is a potential in all the races and peoples of Nirn, empires are just lids for cultural pressure cookers, when they go they go with a bang.

that's why I hate the empire its just a death machine (like rome, or USA, or the Ottman empire...etc) sure i provides a form of progress, but its accompanied by death and violence, while more peaceful forces like the Phoenician culture for example bring progress with little violence and offer knowledge freely (the letter for example), their "empire" was spread from one side of the earth to the next (yes even America) with out need for military force or presence, unfortunately such form of cultures is not as "flashy" as the blood thirsty roman empire, and thus are not as known in general.
