What might cause this?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 7:26 am

Right well, after loading up a list of mods and making sure they work, I started playing the game. I went to Paradise Falls, and for some reason, the area where Eulogys place should be has had its name changed. Now it looks like some foreign language (not sure what exactly) and I can't think of anything that might cause it. The best I could think was that the Slave Overhaul from NVV-something had caused it, but I've removed that from my list and the problem persists. Has anyone heard of this before?

One of your mods was made on a foreign copy of the game, changing some of the location names to that language. If it really bugs you, you can change it back to English yourself with FO3 Edit.

My game has a Citadelle Yard and Eulogys Bude. I kinda like it.

Three help me threads on the first page of the forum?

What did the other threads break? Do you have a hard time finding them?

Since http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1165533-need-serious-load-order-help-cant-find-whats-causing-this/ then this is by no means a shocking turn of events. I expect to see more of this.

I'll have you know I spent seven hours starting fresh and testing every mod at a time, and they all function perfectly fine otherwise (aside from the fact Wasteland Travellers seem to follow me around)
Given this is an entirely different issue I don't exactly know what else you were expecting. Or perhaps you simply can't help yourself.

Actually you didn't have us know anything - you made no reply in that other thread, so how were we to know?

You asked for help in this thread, but then don't http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=know_how_to#PostYourLoadOrder so why should anyone assume it has changed?

I don't think opening multiple threads is an activity that is going to win you a lot of support. But then maybe people are that bored.

Why would I post my load order when this isn't a load order issue?
I'm inquiring if anyone has seen this happen in the game, I very much doubt seeing my active mods would explain that. Unless it was written in Russian (and I like to think I would have noticed that.)

Because load orders tell volumes about an install. They are as close as you can get to listing what you have added to your game - short of listing each replacer as well. And it is very easy to do.

Yes likely you have a foreign language mod where all the parts did not get translated.

I've been playing Gothic 3 lately and using a German mod ... sometimes the text is translated well, other times not, and sometimes remains in German.

In Oblivion I can think of several German mods that change the name of armor, weapons, places. So yes I've seen it, but so what ... that does not solve what you are seeing.

Look there is no shame in asking for help and no one is trying to deride you. Stick with one thread though PLEASE.
