I hope they come out with TES5 Before blizzard comes out with diablo 3!! that will take alot away from TES if it comes out first.. I know im gettin diablo 3 if its out first and i doubt i'll put it down anytime soon.

Why not get both? They're not the same at all, and both offer unique experiences.

i dunno even tho bethesda will want sales lets be honiest thay didnt work on fonv period id like to say soon but then again i said the same about kotor and what did we get a nice mmo which still hasnt been released. but to be fair at the same time thay are drifting dragon age mass effectf able fonv black ops bethesda better get their butts into gear thay are falling behind.

I'm not to sure I understand what you are saying here... are you saying that other games are coming out that will allow gamers to forget how great Bethesda is and that they have to announce their game soon to remain relevant in the industry? If so, I think they've got a few more years before that happens, but I do think they want to show us what they've been working on, so it will happen soon... the question is exactly what "soon" means.

Nothing has been announced. Zenimax is tossing around the name Skyrim in a whole bunch of patents, but it could relate to anything...

I've just had a thought regarding a hypothetical ESV announcement:

The 'special reward' for finishing New Vegas on hardcoe mode is a web address linking to a countdown. countdown completes in a few days / weeks, teaser plays for ESV. y'know, like Ghost of Sparta was announced via the end of GOW3.

No, i have not competed New Vegas, so this is just random guessing. but i think that would be a pretty decent 'reward.'

I really don't know why They dont announce it already? I really do hope for a December announcement, it makes sense, are there any clues to why a DEC theory is possible? I remember last year there were a few theories that made me wonder. a little stocking filler perhaps even like a second book would be a real treat!

Good thing fable 3's out soon, should tide me over for a while. I'm expecting a january announcement tbh. I just think that from NV release - christmas was allocated for NV to get the sales in. Then unveil the beast in january.

ouch. fable 3 will occupy me for about 15 hours of gaming. so about a week. lol thats not nearly a good enough game to bide my time with. although i might try FO:NV, the only game that looks like it might actually take up some time for ME, will be two worlds 2. even though the first one was horrible. something about it appealed to the rpg fan in me. so until TESV is released. two worlds 2, i hope, will do the job.

Anyone notice how the biweekly podcast is behind? Maybe it's being delayed for a reason....or it could be me grasping at more straws again.

Could be the launch of a major game threw them off? I think that is a big handful of straw.

I say watch Nov/Dec for another hint, if not the announcment. FNV is out the door, and a slew of big games are still coming out for the next few weeks, but it tends to get less crowded in December, which might make it a good time to make some news.

Random bonus question: Is Zenimax a publicly traded company? Do they have shareholders and earnings report calls and that kind of stuff the way EA and Activision have? Those can sometimes be juicy information troves, if buried under stultifying business talk.

The podcast being delayed until the announcement could be possible, but their original reason, that the release of new Vegas is taking up all of their time, is more plausible.
I would say that at the ABSOLUTE EARLIEST release date is the 25th of this month, and the latest announcement for the game they are making would be around quakecon 2011

Yeah, fall is a big season for games. And Bethesda has to be careful about when they announce games, because game releases or announcements to other games could easily overshadow a ESV announcement. Like when Cataclysm was announced the same day as Guild Wars 2. Ouch for NCSoft.

i am typing in all undercaps to do that. yeah if the announcement is as late as quakecon 2011 i will have a lower disposition towards bethesda and it actually really annoys me not to use the shift key.

Except for i don't see why they would wait that long to release a game that is supposed to be a bench mark for the next level of hardware. It's on existing technology so I think all there doing frankly is waiting for a marketing window to open, I think this year's launch titles are completely filled up. They would use Quake-Con 2011 as a promotional event but I don't see them as announcing TES V,

Actually, it's not even possible...or rather, highly unlikely. They would need at least that mount of time for holiday promotions. If they announced it at Quake Con 2011 we probably wouldn't see it till 2013 and by that time the existing technology would be mute. So, we can axe off Quake con completely. Doom 4 will be the big game at Quake Con next year dude, they'll steal E3 with Doom 4 and TES V, oh and Rage. I smell it, that makes perfect sense. Esp if they want to position them selves up against EA and Activision as a serious main stream publisher.
