Flame of Agnon Recolouring

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:21 am

I want to recolor the flame of agnon, ( seflameofagnoncentral - to be exact) so I can use it in a mod, but from what I can tell, it does not use a texture?

Can anyone help me out and tell me how to go about recolouring it.

I don't know precisely, but check nifskope on materials and check for "emissive colour" and change that to what you want. I think.

Why do you think it has no texture? There are several textures used. It is an animated nif with lots of particle effects. You would need to recolor all of the textures used and make sure you don't delete the alpha channel when saving, otherwise you will lose the transparency effect. Just look at the nif in Nifskope, it has 7 different textures.

Because I looked in the nif and couldnt find any haha
I didnt think that made much sense haha I'll recheck

EDIT:
The only textures that actually attribute to color are ones for the little cinders that rise. No textures account for the green and orange flame. All the other textures are just black and white.

The colors for the flame are applied in the effect shader, in this case SE06FlameOfAgnonEffect, try playing around with those in the cs rather than messing with the nifs

Playing around with Effect Shaders is fuuun! The Wiki has an article on it http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Oblivion_Shader_Editor (about the editor program) and http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Effect_Shader (on how to use it).
Good luck!

EDIT Oh. The download link is broken. That's annoying! Not sure where else you can get it from...

The second link is is actually a guide to using the EffectShader Window in the CS rather than the Oblivion Shader Editor.

For something simple like a recolor the CS is all you need.
