Hi i Started playing Oblivion about a 2 months ago and i am a few steps from beating the game, (besides the mages guild, I think i ran into a error or bug in the game) and i am going to add shivering isles to the game, when im finshed with that im going to buy morrowind. My question is can i keep my character and all my items and map unlocks with me in morrowind or will be like starting fresh? Another question is about the mage guild recomandations, i tried to get the ring from the well in chedyhall(proly didnt spell that right) and failed a few times, so i moved on but when i came back to get it, it is no where to be found in the well!!! the arrow turns green when im in the well but its not on the body, floor, walls, ceiling or behind anyrocks,,can anyone help with this problem??? if it helps im on the 360 playing.

Errrrrrrrrrr. If you start Morrowind after beating Oblivion, you'll be starting afresh. Morrowind was made a number of years BEFORE Oblivion, so there was no forward thinking to make the two compatible. Also, you can't get Morrowing for the 360, only the original Xbox.

Are you asking about if you can keep the items, map unlocks etc. from Oblivion? If that's so, then no. Morrowind was made several years before Oblivion so you can't just copy your Oblivion charecter into Morrowind. You need to start a new character of course!

If you left without getting the quest update then I think you're screwed. You don't even need to take the ring out of the well to be honest. Just take the ring from the body and while you're still in the inventory screen the quest should update if you give it enough time. After that, put the ring back on the body and swim out.

True, but just to clarify, you can play Morrowind on the 360. I'm not sure if that's what you meant or not.

The answer is still no though. You cannot take your Oblivion Character and use it in Morrowind (or any other TES game).

It wouldn't be good if it would be possible either, because the char could be missing certain things you'ld like to chose, as there are more options.
In Morrowind for instance there are more different kinds of weapons that you can specialize in (like Spear, Axe) and you have Medium armor as well as Heavy and Light Armour. Also, the levelling system works differently and there are more skills, spells etc that are not in Oblivion (like Jump and Levitate: Yes you can fly!).
And the chars look different, fighting works completely different, and beast races cannot wear boots so clothing works different as well.
All in all, many reasons why you cannot use a OB char in MW or vice versa.

But still, Morrowind is a great game (just started a new char after not having played it for 2 years or so) even if you have to start from the beginning and I highly recommend it. It may even be better to start from the beginning, as there are many things you have to learn early in the game. It takes more timeto get the hang of it than Oblivion, plus there is less help with the quests (no green arrows).

Something you may want to know about Morrowind, after playing Oblivion:
(whilst trying not to hurt the feelings of certain people <_<)

Morrowind is a lot... tougher on you than Oblivion is. You'll want to be a lot more careful about wandering the wilderness, and looting that nice looking ruin. You also probably wont "complete" this game in two months.

Yah oblivion was FAR TOO UNBALANCED AND EASY!!

Morrowind is just TOO old I need the new game.

Oblivion was simplyfied.

Over all and other reasons Morrowind hands down.

But yah if they were very similar and you beat the game it might be kinda cool to transfer from morrowind to oblivion.

Yeah man, Morrowind is an entirely different game. Takes place in a different province, there are some differences in the skills you can have, lots of different armor/weapons/creatures. This game was made quite a few years before Oblivion, as well. I'm not too sure what you're expecting if you think you could use the same character. Just start a new one, and have a new adventure. Though having played Oblivion first you may be a bit spoiled to the nicer graphics and 'better' combat system, which might turn you off to Morrowind at first - but you really should give it a chance, it's an excellent game.

Also, I wouldn't look at Oblivion in terms of 'completing' either. There are tons of things to do in Oblivion, and I think there's more than just 2 months worth of fun there. Don't be too precious about your character - start a new one, who's a different race and uses different skills, the game could play entirely different. That's the beauty of these games.

Yes. If you make a new character on oblivion, your old one will still exist. Just make sure you don't overwrite your saves from your previous character.
